Descrizione

Surrounded by forest, lagoon, and a pristine beach, Nectar Cottage lies in Nature’s Valley, the only village located inside a S.A. National Park. The Pearl of the Garden Route!

A spacious house with a large private garden Nectar is a long-time favourite with wedding parties, honeymooners, families and couples. Nectar has 4 bedrooms (master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and private sitting area and deck), 2.5 bathrooms, a warm outside shower and large braai / BBQ area. The house is fully equipped with bed linen and bathtowels, dishwasher, full laundry, free WiFi, open fireplace, games and books, and lots more, including those small touches such as dishtowels, soap, etc. However, we have no TV (by choice) but there is a large flat screen TV just 250 metres from the house in the local restaurant which, along with a general store, is open 364 days a year.


Quartiere

Nature's valley is a haven for nature lovers and offers some of the best hiking in South Africa, including the famous Otter Trail which ends in Nature's Valley as well as lots of day trips for the fit and less fit. Canoeing, birding, swimming, fishing, whale and dolphin watching can all be enjoyed just minutes' walk from Nectar Cottage garden.

Within about a 15-minutre drive you can visit The Elephant sanctuary, Monkey Land, Birds of Eden (with the biggest dome in the world), Tenikwa (big cat) animal sanctuary, or go kayaking, horse riding, cycling, diving, sailing, cruising, paragliding, parasailing, micro lighting, abseiling, and bungee jumping - the highest in the world!

A bit further afield (about 35 kilometres from Nectar Cottage) is Buffalo Hills Game Farm, Lawnwood Snake Sanctuary, The Butterfly sanctuary, Forest Ferns, and Shamwari Game Reserve with the big 5. Further out is the Wolf Sanctuary, Knysna Elephant Park, the Greater Addo Elephant Park (big 7) and in Mossel Bay shark diving.

Chi siamo

I am a woman who has lived all over the world. Grew up in South Africa and, after living in Spain, France, Switzerland, UK, Scotland and central Africa, now live in the Netherlands with my niece who I adopted; and my partner, a born and bred Groningener. We also adopted a cat and dog and usually leave everyone at home when we travel.

We travel a fair bit and my partner and I share a passion for real estate. I speak English, Dutch, Catalan, Spanish, and French, and some Afrikaans. I am particularly fond of Catalunya, Spain, and South Africa. I spent most of my working life in the field of education (M.Ed. degree) and now have ambitions to spend more time studying (history), writing and painting.

I hope to still travel to Australia, New Zealand, and Indonesia one day. I would also like to do more exchanges with people who live nearby for a (long) weekend away. Also see my other home 24727 in Montenegro.

We can do non-simultaneous exchanges as these houses are all 2nd homes, including this one in South Africa. All our exchange homes are professional rental homes so the houses are not cluttered with personal items and are cleaned (including linen and towels) after every stay. This does mean, however, that we do not always have availability and that peak season is usually booked.
