My ground floor garden apartment in the slightly suburban town of Martinez on the north end of Buenos Aires is on a quiet street 2 minutes walk to the train station. 20 mins ride back and forth to city center costs less than $1.US. The small, perfectly maintained building is 60 years old. Doorman. High ceilings. Mouldings. Beautiful polished hardwood floors, large eat-in kitchen with utility patio, Big living/dining room, 3 bedrooms and two baths. Large 500 sq ft garden patio where we eat and take the sun. I bought this apartment in 2007. It has been completely renovated and air conditioned. Ceiling fans and all modern conveniences make it a charming place to live. I do all grocery shopping on foot. Everything is delivered. Cable TV and wifi included. No car. Not necessary.

Quartiere

My neighborhood is peachy. Martinez is a town. It's considered the best of the northern suburban towns. Many vast estates as well as large, well-maintained family houses with pools and tennis courts and many elegant apartment buildings dot the tree-lined streets.
I live at the edge of the center of Martinez. There is every kind of shop and service one could need for the rest of time. Butchers, Bakers, Greengrocers, Mom and Pop Grocery stores, Restaurants, Hairdressers, Appliance stores and pharmacies and hardware stores and sewing shops and ice cream shoppes and lingerie and baby clothes stores... all independently-owned. Shopping is like Paris in the old days. You know the butcher who calls you by name and remembers your favorite cuts of meat and tells you how best to cook them. Idem the greengrocer and the wine merchant etc. I go to the city center to see friends or exhibitions or concerts or tango. But mostly I stay in this paradise of a town.

Chi siamo

I am a writer. I am American, but I live in France and Argentina. I live alone am a veteran house swapper and a meticulous house keeper. Here in Argentina I have a serious maid who comes in twice a week and does everything. I can concentrate on my work. Hilda keeps me and my house clean and tidy. I go to the gym in my neighborhood. I see friends in the city or out here in Martinez where many expatriate Americans, Canadians, Irish and
French people like to live. I have no pets. I don't smoke. I rarely have guests. I speak English, French and Spanish.

Destinazione

Non simultaneous okay. Dates can be flexible. Need Cable or satellite TV and wifi. I would like to be in Lucca, Florence, Parma, Sienna or Modena or any nice place in Italy. I would also fancy Dublin, Oxford, San Francisco Bay Area, Sta Fe, Vancouver, East Coast of US, Portland or Seattle.
