Maison

Our lovely eclectic Victorian cottage is comfortable, pretty and quirky. It has two bedrooms, separate living room and an open plan kitchen/dining. Asko appliances, widescreen TV and DVD, foodies kitchen, coffee machine, ipod speakers, wireless internet access and comfy mattresses. There is a front, side and rear garden with decking and a bbq. It is furnished in a eclectic mix of 20th century modern, antiques and new. Cots, highchairs etc available for young children if required. The house is very light and airy and gets sun all day long. We have no pets to take care of, just relax and enjoy the easy access to all the melbourne has to offer.

Quartier

Our house is only 2 minutes walk to the train station, 15 ins by train to the city center or 7 minutes by car to the city. the Local area Yarraville is a funky inner city suburb with excellent cafe's and restuarants, an art deco cinema, bookshops, deli's, organic grocers etc only a short stroll away. Lots of young people and families live in this area, so there are plenty of parks as well. 10 minutes from williamstown beach or 15 from St Kilda beach and quick access to the freeway to some of the best surf beaches on the great ocean road in victoria, or daylesford spa and wine regions.
Yarraville is a safe, friendly, inner city suburb, with a gorgeous village centre, only 7kms from the C.B.D

My husband is an Art Director in Film and T.V. and I am an Interior Decorator. We have two young daughters. We are in our early 30's. We have both travelled a lot, and now that we have children are interested in house swapping as a more practical and enjoyable way to travel with families! We have an interest in Art and 20th century antiques and our house is filled with art, collectables and books. We are real foodies and will gladly leave recommendations of all the best places to eat sample Melbourne's fantastic food. We take great pride in our own home and would treat someone else's with care and respect. I am from New Zealand so we are always looking to travel back there, or to Europe or New York. we are open to any where!

Destination

We both work freelance so are flexible with dates and sometimes able to travel at off peak times. We travel frequently to New Zealand to visit family so are always looking for an exchange there house swap. We have overseas travel booked already for 2010 so, would be very interested in new zealand exchanges in the next year, city to country or coast swaps are a great idea too! We are open to all offers, but as we have limited ability to travel out off oceania in the next 12 months (until jun 2011)... Look forward to hearing from you..
