Maison

Small, simple, one-bedroom wooden bungalow. Airy, open-plan with lots of windows. Fully-equipped kitchen. Washing machine. Well stocked bookshelves, so you will have plenty to read. TV and DVD player. Double bed. Telephone. Dial-up internet.

Large garden/yard, ideal for bonfires and barbecues. One dog who stays outdoors and cats.

Ideal for a single person or a couple. A third person could sleep on the sofa or on the floor.

The house is just built and still being finished. Hopefully, by summer, it will also have a patio. It is very simple, no luxuries, but comfortable for tropical living.

Quartier

Brighton Beach, St Michael.

Long, wide, beautiful, Brighton/Brandons beach is about 60 metres from house; there is a little road and a row of houses between my house and the beach. Beach perfect for swimming, sunbathing, jogging. The photo provided is of Brighton Beach.
There are stables and horse-riding and volleyball and beach tennis and Weisers Beach Bar/Restaurant is about 5 minutes walk away. http://barbados.org/maps_google.htm?mapPoint=11

Quiet neighbourhood. A few minutes drive south to Bridgetown, to Cheapside vegetable market, the fish market, and shopping. There are, of course, many supermarkets, fast food, and other amenities a quick drive away, and a range of other beaches and restaurants up the west coast.

This location is ideal if you like the beach.

À propos de nous

I'm a teacher, so the house is available for simultaneous swap during July and August, and perhaps xmas or Easter.

I have family and friends who will be available to help you to settle in and give you assistance if you need during your stay. Some of my friends speak spanish.

I also have a car, but it's not in the best shape.

Destination

Simultaneous exchange.
For Summer 2008, either a cosmopolitan city, like Buenos Aires, OR a cool rural or mountainous region with lots of safe walking.

A simple house or apartment within walking distance of amenities, cafes and parks would be ideal.

For Easter 2008, Havana or Fort-de-France.

For the future, I'm open to offers that coincide with school holidays.
