Maison

This sunny condo will provide the respite you need from your busy outdoor adventures out on the town. Upstairs, one full bath (shower/tub) and two spacious bedrooms await you: A queen bed in the master bedroom overlooking the expansive green golf course and bluffs; a fun bedroom for one or two children (or an adult) includes a crib and comfortable pull-out futon, train table, and panoramic view of the mountains. Downstairs, enjoy the open floor plan extending the kitchen into the living room. There is also a half bathroom. Our backyard deck, located directly on the eighth fairway of a local 9-hole golf course, gives way to our “extended” room, perfect for outdoor play (toddler’s slides, basketball hoop & picnic table), BBQ or simply basking in the sun. You may also enjoy spending time at the pool and Jacuzzi in our complex.

Our quiet condominium complex is a 15-minute walk to the bluffs/beach connected to a public 9-hole golf course, and blocks from restaurants/movie theater/grocery shopping/Costco/stores/ banks/Sandpiper golf course/spa services. We can’t say enough about the breath-taking scenery around our home. We have very friendly neighbors and live in a safe community. Those of you with children will also appreciate the local playgrounds within walking distance. We are only a 12-minute drive from downtown Santa Barbara.

Santa Barbara offers a diverse range of activities from shopping to outdoor sports to arts & theater. This unique location lends itself to outdoor enthusiasts with its near-perfect weather, ocean, and mountains. It’s fun to be a tourist renting bikes/roller blades/surreys by the beach, or taking a trolley up and down State Street (for 25 cents!) all the way up to the SB Mission, or visiting an art museum. World-renowned wineries are nestled in the Santa Ynez valley only a 30-minute drive away, for those of you who enjoy a relaxing day of wine tasting (Have you seen the locally-filmed Oscar-winning movie Sideways?). While you’re there, a trip to the quaint Danish town of Solvang is a must.

Location, location, location! Santa Barbara is located only 1 ½ hours north of Los Angeles & Hollywood, 2 ½ hours from Disneyland, and 3 ½ hours from San Diego (Sea World, Legoland). There is simply so much to do here, and something for everyone. We are certain you will enjoy your vacation in & around our beautiful community.

We are a young family (mid-30's) with a sweet 2-yr-old son. Our son is the source of inspiration for our wanting to get out and see the world more fully. We’re looking forward to our experiences utilizing the home exchange program.

Our family lives in town and can be a resource for information. We also have wonderful neighbors who will be helpful as well. If you have children, we may even be able to arrange a fabulous babysitter for you.

Destination

Our dates are flexible. We hope to stay for 2-4 weeks. Summer 2007
We would love to go to Hawaii, Canada, or somewhere on the waterfront. We have also been considering the idea of Europe (France, Italy, Germany, or Denmark). Please make a suggestion!
