Maison

Our corner home is light and airy on a corner lot with gardens and a hot tub. My husband and I are retired, but host our children and grandchildren regularly because of our proximity to San Francisco and the many cultural and outdoor attractions in and around Berkeley.
The house is a charming "Berkeley Bungalo", but we have made many improvements including a modern kitchen. Buses to everywhere are two blocks away, but we enjoy the twenty minute walk to several main shopping areas. Restaurants and groceries are two blocks away.
We are happy to include our car in the exchange. The ocean, vineyards, or mountains are within an easy drive.

Quartier

We enjoy a very diverse and friendly neighborhood. There are many young families as well as retired folk and graduate students. We have a lovely view out of our dining and living room areas. Although they face the ocean, we just see the beautiful color of the sunsets. My husband is President of the Berkeley Lawn Bowling Club just a few blocks away. There is a large park with tennis courts and children's playground three blocks away. It is very quiet.

My husband and I are retired educators: Irving is Professor Emeritus from UMass Boston, Linnea is a retired Elementary School Principal. We both volunteer for several communitee organizations. Linnea is an artist. Iriving enjoys the nearby race track and his lawn bowling. His hot tub is quite a regular habit as well as walking to the nearby coffee houses. We indulge in movies, music, and theater regularly.
