Maison

A basque style house with a garden, inflatable plastic pool and a nice sand pit. Three floors with good distribution, comfortable living room, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 showers, garage. Our pets don't require much care, they're two adult siamese cats.

Quartier

Quiet neighbourhood, great views, protected nature at a walk, impressive basque cities at short drives: Vitoria 20 min, Bilbao 30 min, San Sebastian 80 min, Pamplona 70 min. Biarritz 90 min. Also: Only 50 min. away our beloved "second home": "Rioja Alavesa" region, world famous for its wines, food, Middle-Ages entire-town-fortresses like Laguardia and nice weather. We have nice relatives, precious contacts for an unforgettable visit in this area, because being in touch with local people from the beginning, getting into charming places hidden to "tourists" is one of the best reasons to try Home Exchange.
Contemporary architecture is blossomign here too: ("Bodega Marqués de Riscal" building by Frank Gehry in Elciego (see: http://tinyurl.com/3ylsq4 ), or "Ysios" by Santiago Calatrava, in Laguardia ( see: http://tinyurl.com/yv8362 ) are simply gorgeous, big time). But back home, in Sarria, we have great restarants at a short walk from home, (this particular fact really impressed our english friends). Starting from our delicious basque "pintxos" (sophisticated tapas, ranging from traditional to postmodern ;-} ) to the world-famous cocacola-redwine basque coctel Kalimotxo... anyone can enjoy our gastronomic pleasures, specialized on seafood, great meat... there are plenty of good and unexpensive places to try, but if you want to go a little further New Basque cuisine is a must... only in San Sebastian area we have 3 restaurants highest rated by the Michelin Guide, so maybe it's the top starred area per mile in the World: Arzak (***) Akelarre (***) and Berasategi (***), and we cannot forget Aduriz, our youngest chef, maybe the best in the future.

Gorbeia Natural park is next to our village. Our region, Zuia, is one of the most beautiful of the Basque Coutry, with high-standard residential areas and charming little villages.

Near home: Swimming pools, golf courses, hiking and biking routes, local and traditional festivals, micology...

À propos de nous

We are Ana and Inaki, Radio and TV journalists, with three daughters Aitziber (8), Ainhoa&Irati (twins, 5) looking for a house with a garden or an appartment near the sea. Any country or environment can match our wishes, depending on the warm weather, and we always answer.

Destination

We like seaside but remain open for all offers. We can also consider non-simultaneous exchanges, and smaller periods out of summer vacation.
