Maison

Built in 1906, this 3-story house has 3 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms--one with a queen-sized bed, one with a double bed, and one with a single. Two additional bedrooms are used as studies and could be converted to bedrooms. The house was completely renovated in 2006, retaining the old world charm, yet updating the kitchen and bathrooms. There is a front porch, back patio and garden, and single car garage. Dishwasher, cable tv, broadband internet acces, washer/dryer, elliptical trainer.

We love our home and would respect and care for yours.

Quartier

The house is located in the Snell Historic district--a quiet, residential block of 23 houses, all built by the same architect in the Denver Square style, around 1906. The neighborhood is gentrified, with expensively renovated houses beside houses in need of work. We are located a block from a lively major street with a rock theater, restaurants, bar, coffee shops, book store, movie theater, and bus route to downtown (ten minutes). We are two blocks from magnificent City Park, with a lake, tennis courts, playground, bike paths, soccer fields. Within a three mile radius, you will find the Denver Museum of Art, the Denver Museum of Natural History, the zoo, and the Cherry Creek luxury shopping area. The mountains are 90 minutes away. Denver has an extensive network of bike paths, and we have two bikes available for use.

Frank is a retired financial writer with interests in movies, literature, tennis, and traveling. He was in the Peace Corps in Iran in the mid-sixties. Barbara is a fiction writer. She has lived in Korea, El Salvador and France and loves to travel. She plays jazz piano (there is a baby grand piano in the living room), and likes to cook, garden and play tennis. Barbara can read and understand French and Spanish but has trouble writing in those languages.

Destination

We prefer England, Spain, Italy, France of the Netherlands, but are open to any offers and like to be surprised.

Our house is not available for exchange in July or August, but otherwise, we are flexible.
