Maison

This is a beautifully restored ancient farmhouse in the South of France - easily accessible by air or rail from London and Paris. It is nestled in the countryside yet close to the historic cities of Nimes, Orange and Avignon. We rent out our 2 exclusive gites for most of the year - we have had many Australian guests enjoy a fantastic stay since we opened a few years ago. The home exchange would be for use of our farm house and/or the gites if required. We have two dogs and cats that come as part of the bargain! Quartier

The house is at the foot3 of a medieval walled village in Provence (Gard) in the South of France. It is close to the mediæval town of Uzès and within easy reach of Nîmes, Avignon, Pont du Gard, the Camargue, the Mediterranean and the mountains of the Cévennes and Ardèche. We are looking to do this exchange in the European Winter as we have to be here in the summer to look after our guests. This is a great time of year to visit this area. Generally nights are cold but days sunny and warm enough to sit outside at a cafe. This is the sunniest part of france, we get 300 days sunshine a year. It is lovely to wander around the local food markets on crisp winter day mornings, enjoy superb local cuisine in the sun and then relax in front of the log fire with a book and a glass or two of red wine etc! Will suit children and adults of any age- also a perfect place to base yourself for completing academic work/ book etc

We are Tim and Pippa, Tim is a retired Naval Officer and Pippa had her own consultancy business. We are in our 50s and we now run this place as very up-market holiday lets. We have never exchanged before but perfectly understand what standards are required. We want to do an exchange with a spacious house / apartment in a good location in Sydney - We are flexible but ideally Eastern Suburbs or Lower North Shore to visit our son who is living there. We are only able to exchange from Dec 2007 - March 2008. Our home is an exceptionally well-kept and lovingly restored French farmhouse that offers a unique and luxurious place to come and stay, and so we are looking for similar, and to exchange with people who will respect our home and appreciate it!

Destination

Absolutely only available between November and March, We are open to anywhere warm and exotic. Non simultaneous exchange for our rental apartments in low season (Oct - March) allways possible. Rentals of our two luxurious appartments are always a possibility
