Large (150 sq. meter) 2 bdrm apartment excellently located in the Roma Norte area, in the center of Mexico City and yet away from all its bustle and noise.

Main bedroom is huge (30 sq. meters), with private bathroom and dressing room. Three bathrooms in all. Large living room and eat-in kitchen, large balcony with plants. Additional service room. Apt. is in 7th floor of a low-rise area. Scenic, wall-to-wall windows in all rooms, which affords tons of sunlight and an almost 360 degree view of Mexico City landmarks, surrounding mountains and volcanoes, etc.

Safe and well located, with live-in doorman and one parking space in basement. Two elevators. Close to parks, restaurants, booksotres, cafes, supermarket within the same block, 24/7 convenience store one block away. Theaters, etc. Walking distance to trendy Condesa. Close to subway, to metrobus, to safe taxi stalls, etc.

Last, but not least, we have cable and wireless internet conection; music, DVDs, books, and everything you need to enjoy home.

Quartier

Roma Norte is one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in Mexico City. Most buildings date from the Porfiriato era, which means French-style two storey family houses.

It is also close to trendy Condesa and the Historic Center, well communicated with the whole city (which is not that usual in Mexico City) yet safe from agglomerations, traffic, and noise. Take the subway (very safe), the metrobus, walk to a safe taxi sitio, all within 5 minutes.

Also rare for Mexico City is the fact that you can walk to do your grocery shopping, to have a coffee in the cafe of your choice, eat Italian, French, Spanish, Chinese or Mexican food. There are two beautiful gardened squares nearby. Have a beer and listen to live music without having to plan. Plenty of small and not-so-small art galleries.

The neighborhood is a mixture of old and new, of Mexican and foreign, becoming trendier but still not there, which affords you more space, quiet and lower prices on your young designer clothes, furniture, etc. A place to enjoy and a safe and beautiful base from where to explore the rest of the city.

À propos de nous

We are a couple living in Mexico City for the past three years. We are originally from Peru and Spain, and have travelled extensively for work. We are both academics and enjoy having a safe haven to return to at the end of the day.

We like food and music and to have friends over. We both speak Catalan, Spanish, English, French and some German (whatever we can remember, anyway).

We have no children and no pets, but we do not mind non-destructive ones. We like plants and paintings. We do not smoke but do not mind if you do, as long as you do not burn the house down!

Destination

We are going to be in New York City from Jan. 7th to Jan. 13th. However, we will be away from Mexico City starting Dec. 21st, so you can use the apt. from then onwards.

We would like an apt. in or around Manhattan, close to a subway station that will put us in Manhattan in less than 30 min.

We are willing to exchange homes for other trips and/or locations later on.
