Maison

We live in a modern, spacious 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom family house which has all mod cons; gas central heating, double glazing, large living room with log burning stove, spacious breakfast kitchen on open plan to dining room, dishwasher, induction hob e.t.c , laundry/utility room and playroom. The master bedroom is a spacious room and is situated next to the master bathroom which has both a bath and seperate shower cubicle. The other 3 bedrooms are all located on the ground floor and consist of one double, one single and one with bunk beds. There is a double garage and large, fully enclosed, private garden which is very peaceful. There is a burn at the bottom of the garden which is just beyond the fenced patio area with plenty outdoor furniture and a large gas BBQ. The garden is very child friendly, as is the house, with a trampoline, a play house, a sand pit and a newly built tree-house, with full use of bikes, trikes, tractors and our home made go-cart!

Quartier

Our house is situated along a very quiet single track road in the countryside. We live just outside the village of Drumoak which is a 2 minute drive away. Drumoak itself sits along Royal Deeside, and is a perfect location for both city and country living. Aberdeen City (or "the Granite City") is a 20 minute drive away, and here you will find an abundance of shopping, bars, restaurants, nightlife, museums, galleries, swimming pools, parks, cinemas e.t.c. It has a beautiful long sandy beach where you often see the porpoises jumping.
Head west and you will find 5 historic castles all within a 15 minute drive of our house. Also, Balmoral Castle (the queens summer residence) the Whisky Trail, and all skiing/snow boarding facilities at the Lecht Ski Centre.
We are also 2.5 hrs drive from both Glasgow and Edinburgh.

We are an active family of four who enjoy travelling. My husband (Joe) and I (Susan) are both teachers, and we have two lovely boys who are aged 4 and 6. We all have 6 weeks summer holidays, as well as 2 weeks in April, 2 weeks in October and 2 weeks at Christmas, (the perks of the job!) therefore we have many dates to choose from. We are open to all offers, our only preference is that we fly direct from Aberdeen Airport to reduce the amount of travelling time involved. We have one outdoor/indoor cat who is very affectionate, however if this was a problem she could easily stay with other family members. We have never house swapped before, but I hope that would not put anyone off. We are concientious people and would look after our holiday residence in the same way we would expect others to.

Destination

If the exchange dates were slightly different, we could easily accommodate this by staying with family members nearby. We are open to all destinations, but would prefer a destination which we could fly to direct from Aberdeen Airport. We are happy for out vacation to last between 1-3 weeks, ideally 2 weeks.
