Maison

This is a charming villa built in 1933 and renovated in the late 90s with a beautiful swimming pool, a whirlpool bath and a Harvia sauna (with a shower stall nearby) in the spacious basement. All of the floors are either oak, pine or marble (entrance hall and kitchen).
There is also a small exercise room in the basement with a full-size mirror. The laundry room is also big and bright. There are plenty of toys for children. There is one bedroom on the ground floor and two bedrooms (one with a double bed, one with twin beds) and an office upstairs. This is a perfect house for someone who is allergic to feathers or dust. There are no carpets and there are no feathers in the house. The garden is fairly large and it is enclosed and surrounded by trees and bushes. The pool is fenced in with gates to make it safe for a family with small children.

Quartier

The house is located on a hill in the community of Binningen, very close to the city of Basel (5 minutes!) in Switzerland, near the French and German borders. There is a panoramic view of the city, as well as the Black Forest in Germany and the Vosges in France out the upstairs window. Basel is famous for its many museums, especially the world-famous Beyeler Museum. Public transportation is within walking distance. A duck pond, fields with horse farms and the woods with a vita parcours jogging path are all nearby. Shopping is also very close. The neighborhood is very green and quiet with lots of large trees, but there is some local traffic and a bus (which goes by every half hour in each direction = one bus every 15 min.) on the road above our house.

We are Swiss (husband) and American (wife) and we have two daughters. We speak German, English and French. He works in public relations and enjoys gardening on the weekends and she is an English teacher and translator, and a singer and actress in her free time.

Destination

We are quite interested in the west coast of France. Italy would also be an option.
Something completely different might also interest us.
The exchange would have to be simultaneous or nearly so.
We can only stay in a home with no animal hair or feathers (only synthetic bedding). We may be able to bring our own bedding, however.
