Maison

Our house is a detached cottage with open plan lounge with a staircase in the middle of the lounge. There are French windows opening out onto a courtyard garden where we eat Al Fresco (weather permitting of course).

The ground floor also consists of a Georgian style dining room with a lovely Victorian fireplace (not used). The whole house is centrally heated.

We have a modern fitted kitchen with washing machine and tumble drier. There is also a well hidden washing line to dry clothes out of doors.

Upstairs we have one double bedroom and two single bedrooms, one of which is used as a dressing room. Our bathroom is also upstairs has a bath and a shower.

To the side of the house we have a garage and driveway which will hold 2 cars. There is also a gas barbeque in the garden.

We are extremely proud of our home and as such would treat your home with the same care and respect.

Quartier

Our home is situated in a quiet village in Suffolk situated on the Essex/Cambridgeshire borders. By car, Cambridge is approximately 30 minutes away with excellent train services to London which takes approx. 1 hour.

The neighbourhood is a mixture of families, older people and couples. Everyone is very friendly without being intrusive. There are numerous walks in the area with lovely views of the surrounding countryside.

Suffolk is a relatively flat part of England so don't expect mountains views, We have lived here since 2001, this being our main home, and we have always felt very settled here. Our children have now grown up and we are enjoying the best of both worlds - peace and quiet, but within easy distance of shopping, culture and theatres that Cambridge has to offer.

The village is quite old, it has some lovely buildings,and a church that is mentioned in the Dooms Day Book . On a lighter note it also has the 3 P's. Primary school, Post office and Pub. One of which we don't use and one we use more than the other!!.

We also boast a mobile Fish and Chip van that visits on a Friday and a local shop for provisions. A main supermarket is available in the next town 3 miles away.

There are lovely woods and a childrens play ground.It is a very pretty village and a lovely place to live. In the surrounding districts there are many villages,hamlets and small towns each with its own unique features.

We are both in our mid fifties and I am a Senior Health Official and Sheila is a retired Local Government worker. Our hobbies include travelling, walking and antiques. We have 4 children all of whom have fled the nest and have families of their own.

We are an open and friendly couple who love to travel and meet new people.
