Maison

"Magens Fancy" is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath villa, however, we will use our office to store personal items, thus is it offered as a 2 bedroom villa. We have a 2 bedroom apartment below the house, with private parking and private entrance, for our tenant/housekeeper.
Amenities include, expanded channel cable TV, High speed internect connection, washer/dryer, BBQ and a pool deck with a view to kill for. The fully equipped kitchen includes dishwasher, refrigerator with ice maker, gas stove and vent, microwave, all dishes, flatware pots and pans. Fine linens are included for the king size bed in the master bedroom (with private bath) and queen size bed in the guest room. A car is necessary and we will strive to swap our RAVE 4.

Quartier

Located on the Northside, we are at the end of a .7 mile country road, 330 feet above sea level. Surrounded by 50 acres of unspoiled land, you can hear the birds chirp and the crickets sqeak. The main city on St. Thomas, Charlotte Amalie, is only 5-8 minutes away, on the south side of the island. Sailing, diving, snorkelikng, deep sea fishing, para-sailing, golf, tennis, horesback riding, kayaking, hiking,and duty-free shopping are all just minutes away by car. Attractions include Coral World, Estate St. Peter Great House and Botanical Gardens, Paradise Point Tramway, World Famous Mountaintop, Tillet gardens and pristine beaches. A ferry trip to St. John, St. Croix, Tortola and Water Island are always enjoyable.

We are a semi-retired couple, my husband being a hotel comptroller and I am a Realtor. We met in the South of France, sailed across the Atlantic in 1979, married in Annapolis in 1980 and returned to call St. Thomas our home. Our geriatric sailboat, "Vanisning Point" still gives us the pleaseure of occasional weekends "off the rock."
We have sailed the Caribbean, and travelled widely in Europe, northern Africa, Brazil and Australia. We want to swap house in a Spanish speaking country to learn/improve our Spanish. Arranging for a local teacher to tutor us would be helpful. We have a friendly cocoanut retriever names Shadow, who may or may not be inlcuded in the swap. Your choice!

Destination

We will fly into Brisbaine Oct. 6 and leave on Nov. 5th. We would like to spend all 4 weeks at the same house, but could split it up 2 weeks at a time. We are not necessarily looking for a resort, because we live in one. No cities, please!! We would like to have a private pool, but will consider other places. We would also like to do a car exchange, if insurance permits it, and I believe it will for our Toyota RAV 4 here. We are a semi-retired professional couple. We went to Australia in 2005 to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary, and vowed to return in 5 years. During our first trip, we travelled all around the country, on a whirl wind tour. This time we would love to be based in Queensland, and take a few small 3-4 day trips. We can do a non-simultaneous exchange based upon availability of our villa, which we occasionally rent as a short term vills.
