Cosy & modern "duplex" apartment of 90 sqm on the 3rd & 4th floors of a house located in the centre of Brussels. A lot of sunlight with many windows under the roof. Flat totally repainted in fresh white.
Sleeps 4 adults: 1 master bedroom downstairs + 1 guestroom upstairs (sofa-bed) in the TV/Hi-Fi lounge. Kitchen (not fitted) equipped with fridge/freezer, combined convection oven with also microwaves & grill, gas hob, extractor hood, dishwasher, washing machine & tumble dryer. Small bathroom but with a full-size bathtub. Toilet separate. Central heating. No air conditioning but 3 fans available. Wireless Internet connection.

Brussels is both the capital of the Kingdom of Belgium and of the European Union, and also hosts the headquarters of NATO as well as those of many other international organisations. As you know, Belgium is the country of chocolate, waffles, beer, mussels, fried potatoes, lace, comic strips, and Art Nouveau architecture.
From here, you can visit all of Brussels and even the rest of Europe without a car ! Read the "location" section to know more about our incredibly convenient and lively place...

Quartier

Our 2-storey apartment is located in the city centre of cosmopolitan Brussels, near the European Institutions. You can go absolutely everywhere on foot or by public transportation ! We are 15 minutes walk from the Grand-Place, 10 min from the Royal Palace and major Arts Museums, and 5' only from metro, bus, or train stations.
The Atomium and Mini-Europe park are 40 min far by metro; Paris and the North Sea are 1h15' by train, Cologne and London 2 hours, and Amsterdam or Luxemburg 2h30'.
Ideas of other day-trips: go to the Dutch-speaking region of Flanders and visit Brugge (the little Venice of Northern Europe) or Antwerp (the world center for diamonds); or go to the French-speaking region of Wallonia and do not miss Durbuy (the smallest city in the world) or Spa (famous for its thermal water and F1 car racing). And for further destinations such as Rome, Lisbon, Madrid, Berlin or Vienna, the national airport (Zaventem) is 30 min away by train, bus, or car/taxi. To go to Dublin, Barcelona, Pisa, Faro or Oporto, fly low-cost from the regional airport (Charleroi) which is a 50 min ride from downtown Brussels by direct shuttle bus.
In our district, you will find all kinds of shops, cafés-bars, and sites to visit. Restaurants are Belgian, French, Portuguese, Italian, Greek, Indian, Pakistanese, Lebanese, Turkish, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Thaïlandese, Vietnamese, Japanese, African, Tunisian, Moroccan, Mexican, etc... At home, we have a list of addresses and suggestions for you to make your stay really easy and enjoyable.

We are a multilingual and multicultural couple, both working in Brussels. She is Belgian, 36 years old, speaks French, English, Portuguese, and is learning Dutch. He is Portuguese, 44 years old, speaks Portuguese, French, English, Spanish, a bit of Italian, and is learning German. We like travelling and getting to know various cultures, places, cuisines, etc. Together, we enjoy going to live shows or concerts and exhibitions, dancing salsa, walking outdoor, or just relaxing. Our collection of books, CDs and DVDs is in French, English, and Portuguese. We are non-smoking. We do not have children or pets and are requesting that you do not bring them: our apartment is not equipped for those guests. Every message will receive an answer.

Destination

- In 2009, spending holidays in CANADA, CORSE, BRETAGNE, or SAVOIE would be great!
- In the Spring/Autumn, we like to spend long weekends in other European cities. Example: TOULOUSE, NICE, FIRENZE, MILANO, LONDON, GLASGOW, GRENADA, PRAHA, etc.
- In PORTUGAL, we like to discover new places because we know Lisbon & Porto already. Em Portugal, onde vamos nao faz diferença mas fora de Lisboa e do Porto, SFF.
- In JAPAN, BRAZIL OR ASIA, since we have never been there yet, every location and date will be considered. We are waiting for your proposals! Thank you...
