Maison
First proposition : new « landaise » traditional house (80 m2 ), two minutes near atlantic ocean, on a land of 800 square meters. House with lounge and living room (with chimney) , two bedrooms, little bathroom, nice kitchen full equiped, WC , shelter terace, garage.
Charming and pleasant house near a natural beach ( white sand) in a exceptionnel landscape ( the tallest European forest near beaches, surrounding lakes).
Magnifical natural landscapes to profit and do sports : swimming, surf ( THE PLACE of the surf !!!with many international competitions in summer) kite surf, wind surf, golf ( many greens around...) bicycle, ramble, horses ...
Quiet atmosphere all the year : between 15th july to 15th August, tourism is more important but traditionnal and cultural activities are more developped during this period. Its guarantee to know this french country which allways welcome you with joy and respect.
Second proposition : a second house would be available at 25minutes inland from the first house.
New house of 115 square meters on a pretty land of 1500 square meters in the country.
Very quiet and refreshing; house with a big space : living room, lounge and american kitchen all equiped, 3 bedrooms (welcome 6 persons) , big bathroom, WC, swimming pool in the garden ( 7mx 3.5m) , terace and pleasant wooded land + (internet access ADSL).
The house is in the heart of a natural and protected reserve with migrant birds and endemic horses. Its a favoured position to be nearest all natural, cultural, sporting and gastronomic qualities of the region.
Quartier
For the first house ( first proposition near the beach), the village ( MESSANGES) is a small touristic village which keeps a preserved nature; its a big asset on this coast.
It is in a residential area , the beach is at 10 minutes by bicycle ( bicycles are available in the house ) and at 3 kms you would find a bigger touristic village very dynamic in summer where you‘ll find all necesities to have an excellent holidays.
The village is in proximity to urban areas where you can find many activities.
The nearest city is DAX (medium town at 30 kms) first thermal town of France ( rheumatism, osteoarthritis and thalassotherapy ).
To 40 kms you find the Bask Country and the towns Bayonne and Biarritz : Traditional, cultural, natural and ecologic tourism but also an exceptionnal life style in a grandiose landscape ( medium mountains falling in the ocean ) and of course the strong point of the region: the gastronomy of the south west of France , knows all around the world ( foie gras, wines of Bordeaux, fruits...)
Don’t forget the reputable cities festivals in the nearest towns (DAX, BAYONNE, PAMPELUNA in Spain ).
At 1h30 away by road : in the north, there is the biggest town of the region BORDEAUX and towards the south , the Spain and the very pretty city of San Sebastian ( “the small Rio” )
At 2 hours away by road, you would find the first high mountains and the ski runs for the winter are very pleasant, but the landscapes are really superb all seasons for walk or hike.
This house has a strategic location to take advantage of the region for each season.
For the second house ( second proposition) the house is in a small and quiet thermal village ( slimming course and respiratory tract) in the country (20 minutes to the beach) : SAUBUSSE . And it is in a residantial street .
But the house is nearer the cities of the area ( 10 minutes from DAX / 30 minutes from BAYONNE and BIARRITZ and Bask-Country and 1h15mn from the mountains ).
À propos de nous
We are two teachers ( 35 and 37 years old )in a secondary school ( college and lycée) : library of the school and paramadical and social teacher .
We have two childrens ( a boy 8 years old and a girl 11 years old ) ; sometimes they will travel with us and sometimes we will travel alone .
We have a dog in the second house
We have a passion for the travels, to go to meet different cultures and peoples and particularly in warm places with sea, like tropical islands !!!
We understand english and we speak it a little too.
We would like to exchange during our school holidays in simultaneous but you would come at one of our house in not simultaneous.
We are interested as a priority in all warm islands ( Caribbean; indian ocean, south pacific islands, polynésia, new caledonia...) but also Madagascar, Australia, Costa Rica, Mexico...
We are open minded to all coast and tropical countries
Eventually South European destinations too
Our dates to travel and exchange ( one or two periods by year) in simultaneous : end february/ begin March 2008 or mid april/ begin May 2008 or July or August 2008 or end october /begin november 2008 or end of the year 2008 . Same thing for 2009 and 2010 !!!
Our dates to welcome you in not simultaneous ; For the first house ( near the beach) we can welcome you between september and june ( to discuss according to period and duration).
For the second house ( with swimming pool and near DAX ) We can welcome you during July and August.
Possibility to exchange a car during a simultaneous exchange only .
If you want; possibility to help you to build a personnal stay around your favorite interest: cultural stay , sporting stay , gastronomic stay ...

Nous sommes intéressés en priorité par toutes les îles chaudes : îles des caraïbes/ îles dans l'océan indien, îles dans le pacifique. Mais aussi Australie / Madagascar / costa rica ...
Nous sommes ouverts à d'autres propositions dans les pays côtiers tropicaux !
Destinations européennes du sud également possibles.
