This relaxing newly updated 1 bedroom/1 bath condominium has approximately 850 sq ft, a balcony overlooking downtown from the 9th floor and is centrally located to downtown, walking distance to the beach and shopping the historic strip of restaurants and shops on Las Olas Blvd. Central Air, lots of natural light, tastefully decorated with original figure drawings from local artists, wood flooring, new kitchen with granite countertop and new appliances including dishwasher and microwave. Located in the only high rise building in this historic Victoria Park area of downtown Fort Lauderdale. Secure building, outdoor pool, community coin operated laundry on site. Four post queen size bed fits two, there is also a massage table which can be unfolded and set up as a very comfortable extra bed for one. Approximately $20 taxi ride from the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport.

Quartier

Victoria Park is a charming neighborhood with historic homes and meandering streets that wind along a canal. Lots of trees and tropical plants shade the walk through the historic area toward the famous Las Olas Blvd with all of it's shopping and restaurants which will lead you east to the beach or west to downtown Fort Lauderdale. Perfect for bike rides or days of sushine on the beach with water which never seem to get cold. If it's nightlife you seek you'll find it on Las Olas, downtown at The Riverfront or on the beach at Beach Place. If you just want to stay in for the night there are plenty of options LITERALLY right outside your door at The Gateway Plaza, where you can see a movie or relax at a cafe, have Sushi, Italian or Thai food. It's so convenient you could literally have them deliver it to you if you don't want to walk across the block. There are museums and Theater and usually you will find a festival happening somewhere if not downtown. There's a local health food grocers Whole Foods largely suppying organic foods as well as a regular grocery store Publix which also carries some organic selections. There are a few vegan/vegetarian restaurants nearby as well. There are nearby gyms and studios with equipment and offering yoga and martial arts classes...there is something for everyone! I love my apartment for it's loft inspired beauty perfectly situated between the comforts and entertainments of city life and the natural allure of warm white sand and blue ocean. I hope you love it too!

My name is Karen, I am 36, Professionally I am a Yoga Therapist and Instructor. I work privately one on one with people as well as in big groups. I love travel and culture (which is why I'm so suprised I haven't posted my apartment on this site earlier) I enjoy nature as well as the excitement city life has to offer and I live an organic lifestyle. You won't find commercially produced anything here and if there isn't anything you can't pronounce on any of the ingredients listed on any labels here. I am smoke free which means my apartment is too and thus I hope you are as well. I love animals but have no pets and none are allowed in the building anyway. If you happen to have pets I will gladly take care of them when we swap houses! I look forward to hearing from you!

Destination

I would like to find a place in Germany or Amsterdam between Jan 1-7 2008. I would like to stay downtown close to everything, as you can tell that is how I live. You can pick and choose whatever dates you would like to visit Fort Lauderdale, I can make the apartment available to you most any date most any time of the year, however I can tell you the weather has just turned and it is WONDERFUL now until around Easter, which is peak season. The summers are the off seasons and are very humid, not as enjoyable as the fall and winter but still definitlely worth a visit.
