Ancient 2 storey tipycal brittany house near Carhaix Plougher in a peaceful environement, very cosy and comfortable, completely renewed in 2008, so that all is brand new and in a country stile. It has 2 double bedrooms, a kitchen, a dinning room with a fireplace, a living room with a comfortable sofabed for 2 people, a bathroom and a toilet. Outside there is also a garden (but not very well kept, I must confess, as we do not live in Brittany; however, our kids are happy to have a place to be outside the house), and a parkplace for you to park your car. Ideally located both for lovers of open air activities such walking, hiking,cycling, golf, horseriding, etc. and for people wishing to visit all what Brittany has to offer in terms of tourism, nature and culture. There is a golf club at 4 km. from our home.

Quartier

Our home is in a quite small community, in the otuskirts of Treffrin, but very close to Carhaix Plougher, the biggest city in central Brittany. This ensures you will have all the services you need, from doctors to big supermarkets, cinema, golf, tennis, horse riding, swimmingpool, wellness center, and also the canal Nantes Brest is at a short distance, so you can hire a boat or walk along the canal. Very nice landscapes and country forests ideally for the lovers of hikking and mountain bike tours.

At the same time, it has a privileged position as a base to visit all Brittany in dayly trips, which allows you to choose each day a different beach to go to, and many cultural and touristic visits to very nice natural and historical places like: Quimper, Concarneau, Locronan, la Pointe du Raz, Crozon, Brest, the granit coast in the north, Morlaix, Saint Brieuc, Paimpol, Lorient and it's celtic festival and, a bit further you may go to Vannes, Quiberon and even Rennes, Saint Malo and Dinan. The furthest place is Nantes, at around 2h and a half. So you won't find a best location if you intend to visit Brittany extensively.

It's necessary to have a car in order to enjoy your holidays in Brittany, as public transport in all the region is poor and most places badly linked.

À propos de nous

We are four, 2 kids aged 7 and 8 and 2 adults, Vicent and Imma. Vicent teaches German in a public languages school and Imma works as a psychologist in the educational field. Both of us also work part time at the University, in postgraduated courses.
As we have the same holiday periods than the kids, and as we love very much traveling, we go often on holidays and we exchange our home more than once a year. We live near BArcelona, in Spain, and own a second home in Torredembarra, a very lovely place in between Barcelona and Tarragona and next to the beach. Two years ago we bought that second home in Brittany, as it's a few years we fell in love with the beauty of the region and decided to have our place here for the holidays. So we have two second homes we can offer you and you can use one or the other or decide to split your holidays in between both of them.

We both speak English, French, Spanish, Catalan, I also speak Italian and Vicent speaks German too, so feel free to contact us in any of those languages.

Destination

WE can have a non simultaneous exchange, so can be very flexible with the dates. Specially looking for 2009 swaps, Easter (4 to 13 April 2009) Summer and Christmas (any time between 23 december until January the 5th), May (1st to 4th) for us to go to your place, we can the receive you whenever you want to. Also looking for a home exchange in the second half of August 2009.

We would love to go to New York and San Francisco, Beijing or any bit Asian city, or a big city in Europe, specially at Easter time. At Christmas we would also love going to sky in Europe. However, we are open to offers, as we know there are many places we haven't perhaps thought of that may be a nice place to go on holidays.
