Maison

Our modern home has a large open plan living room/dining room/kitchen (recently renovated) which opens onto a sunny north facing deck. The master bedroom has an ensuite. We have two other bedrooms, one with double bed, one with double sofa bed (presently used as an office). We have a separate tv/computer/lounge room. Double internal garaging. Car available.

Quartier

Our sunny spacious home is north facing in a quiet street minutes from the Auckland waterfront, beaches, cafes, restaurants and theatres. We are 10 minutes drive to the city centre and have several shopping villages nearby including a supermarket and medical centre. We are minutes from the harbour from where you can travel by ferry to many beautiful small islands ie Waiheke Island known for its vineyards, cafes and art. We are 30 minutes drive to east coast surf beaches and forests. From Auckland it is 2-3 hours drive to Northland, Coromandel and Rotorua. We are 4 hours drive from Mt Ruapehu for skiing.

I (Rebekah) am a writer and my husband Roy is a commercial photographer (website www.royemersonphotography.com), the perfect combination for travel writing! We have two children ages 23 (Todd) and 20 (Ruby). They do not usually travel with us. We enjoy restaurants, theatre, music, art, reading, travelling and spending time with friends.We are in our early 50's.
We spent 4 1/2 months in France and Italy in 2006 on home exchanges.
In 2007 we spent 3 weeks exchanging in Moorea, French Polynesia.
They were all wonderful!
We are now planning another trip to Europe in 2008.

Destination

We are able to be flexible on dates.
We can do simultaneous or non-simultaneous exchanges depending on the dates.
We like to stay 3-4 weeks at least during exchanges, so that we can begin to feel at home.
