Maison

We live in a small quite rural beach side community Foxton Beach, located at the mouth of the Manawatu river and the Tasman Sea. The house is modern and open plan, having just been renovated. The kitchen is well equiped, the house is solar heated, with a large open fire place. We have a large private garden, with decks and balcony. There is one bathroom, with a double shower and separate bath. There are 3 bedrooms, currently one is set up with twin beds, and the other 2 have double beds. There is a separate office area, which can be coverted easily into another sleeping space.There are 2 toilets and a separate laundry.

Quartier

The neighbourhood is very quiet and tranquil and the Ocean can be heard from the house. There are few families resident in our immediate area. The neighbours are friendly and will assist with any little problems that may arise. There is a cafe, dairy, fish n chip shop, automotive garage, and pie shop at Foxton Beach. A supermarket is located in the nearest town, Foxton which is 12 km's (7 minutes by car) away.The nearest large town is Palmerston North 50 km's away (25 minutes by car). The beach is good for swimming, surfing, and fishing. There is are free tennis courts, a skate board park, and several children play areas.There are many walks that can be taken along the river and beach and the river. The river estuary is a bird santuary. The house faces out on to a public reserve, with a walk way and a small lake.

À propos de nous

We are Dave and Liz, we both work in Levin (20 minutes south of Foxton). Dave is in sales and Liz is an accountant. Dave has a 15 year old son who lives with his Mum in Palmerston North, Liz has a daughter, who is currently living and working in the UK.

Alot of Liz's family live in the area, her Mum lives 4 house down and a sister lives around the corner and other relatives live close by. Dave is originally from Auckland, but has lived in the Manawatu / Horowhenua area for a good 15 years.

Destination

We are heading off to visit relatives in Holland, England and check out Bordeaux where Dave's Mum was from. We are looking to be away for 4 weeks, and will be travelling around a bit, but we where hoping to locate ourselves some where in those 4 weeks for a week or so, either in Holland, England or France. Our house would be avaliable for 4 weeks.

Note:September in New Zealand is Spring time, and the weather can be very variable. Expect it not to be very hot, or very cold. Don't expect to go swimming, but a ski trip to up to Mt Ruapehu is still possible at that time of year.
