Maison

Our home has 3 large bedrooms & study. 2 queen size & 2 single beds. All bedrooms have a t.v. and d.v.d. player and ceiling fans. Several other t.v's throughout the house. Kitchen has dishwasher, microwave,fridge-freezer and all expected items. There is 2 full bathrooms/3toilets and an extra powder room.It is situated on a canal with great water views. Pontoon provides fishing at your back door. 2 kayaks are available for use. Internet connection available. The island is linked to the mainland by a short bridge.

Quartier

Bribie Island has a village atmosphere and is connected to the mainland by a bridge. It is approx.45m.drive to intern.airport and to our capital city-Brisbane. Island has bus and rail connections. All conveniences are available with multiple choice of shops/medical etc.The Island boasts 23kil. of white sand beach just great for long walks and swimming. Bird life abounds. Bicycle tracks cross the island. There are 2 golf courses and 3 lawn bowl clubs on the island and we offer the use of 2 sets of clubs and bowls. Easy access to the Sunshine Coast and the hinterland which offer craft markets and spectacular views. Great walks through rainforest areas. Clubs and resturants offer a great range of cuisine at affordable prices. Depending on time of year dolphins can cruise by your back door. A 3 hour drive north will bring you to the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef however a short trip across the bay will enable you to go deep sea fishing or vist Moreton Island to feed the wild dolphins. Drive south for one and a half hours and you have the choice of the Gold Coast and a number of theme parks. Depending on the time of year whale watching tours are available. 30mins. up the highway and you come to Steve Irwins famous Australia Zoo.

We are a retired couple looking to visit and tour England. We have lived on the Island fulltime for 12 years. We enjoy travel and have visited Europe and most of the Asian countries over the years. House swapping is a new adventure for us however we feel it could be the start of something big.

Destination

Dates are flexible however we want to be there to see the spring flowers. Our summers are very hot so we feel that to enjoy Queensland exchange visitors would be more comfortable with the cooler months. We would prefer a swop outside large cities perhaps approx. an hour or so from London. Access to rail and airport is important. We require a car exchange. Our car is modern reliable Toyota Corolla.
