We are empty nesters who haven't yet left the nest! We have a modern kitchen and plenty of room, high speed internet access and large plasma tv. Our house has 2 great air conditioning units and central heat. We have a good sized pool. It is not heated and by Christmas the water will be rather cool if you're wimps like us!. However the weather is usually very pleasant in December.



We hope you will consider exchanging with us, hopefully this Christmas! My daughter loves Austrailia, so if you're interested in another time period, let us know and we'll make a note of it! I'm not sure whether she'll be able to leave when her time is up!

We would take great care of your home and would much prefer it to a hotel! We have exchange 4 times before, but not for a while. Will take some pictures and post them or send them directly to you if we hear you are interested!

We live in a safe suburban neighborhood on the north side of San Antonio. We are close to all kinds of shops and amenities. In fact, San Antonio is described as a big town with a small town feel! We have everything you could wish for....... from true Texas countryside, to the gulf coast, from Neiman Marcus to outlet shopping and a Mexican market, from golf courses to parks and swimming pools and SeaWorld, from beautiful art galleries and theaters, to children's theater and a zoo with a state of the art pre-school section!

We also have warm weather year round, no hurricanes or tornadoes and warm-hearted south central Texas personalities!

We are about 3 hours drive from Corpus Christi, on the gulf of Mexico and about 1 hour from the capital city of Austin. Downtown San Antonio with its Riverwalk and the Alamo is about 15 minutes away. there are lots of good things to do here! San Antonio is a city of about a million people, with every amenity. However it is also close to some 'real 'ol Texan' small towns ( including Luckenbach, Texas, of country music fame!)

We have one cat, but would be happy to board him elsewhere! We'll also be sure there is no cat hair to be found! We have 2 cars, both Infinitis and would like a car exchange if possible. We are visiting our daughter who is studying at RMIT in Melbourne. Our other adult daughter will be with us but could stay with her sister.

Ken is a professional engineer with his own company and I am a teacher. We are originally from England and I have a pommy brother who lives in Adelaide and has lived in Australia for many years.

I speak French and German but wouldn't say I'm fluent as I'm very rusty! I try to talk Texan but have trouble and slip back into cockney!

Ken plays golf and he travels around the States for his design work. We have 2 daughters and 2 grandchildren.

Destination

We really are urgently looking for a Melbourne, Australia exchange for this Christmas, 2007. However, we'd be interested in other places later, especially England, southern Spain or N.E. United states.
