3-level Villa with pool and ocean and woodland views on the hill near Ungasan Village, above Jimbaran Bay on Bali, Indonesia’s Island of the Gods.

The villa is ideal for a couple or two couples who want to enjoy the delights of Bali from a romantic and peaceful property featuring modern Asian architecture and most mod cons.

The villa is 20 minutes from Bali’s Denpasar airport, 10 minutes to the famous sunsets and seafood cafes on the beach at Jimbaran Bay, 15 minutes to Nusa Dua’s fabulous beach and five-star resorts, 30 minutes to the nightlife and shopping of Kuta, Legian and Seminyak, 90 minutes to the artistic enclave of Ubud. Boating, diving, surfing and trekking are all accessible

The villa is our home and is therefore fully equipped. The mid-level consists of open plan living, dining and kitchen (610 litre fridge, water dispenser, microwave and 4 gas burners. No oven) and powder room. There is a free-to-air satellite TV, radio and music system (French, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, UK and Australian TV, plus Indonesian and other Asian TV channels) with an integrated DVD and CD system. Floors are terracotta and big glass and timber doors open to the pool, terrace and balé bengong (gazebo) – a discreetly-lit , thatch-roof, cushioned platform for lazing, watching the evening lights come on across the ocean and along the west coast of Bali, and catching the sea breeze.

The top level houses two king-size bedroom suites with timber floors and traditional thatch ceilings under the fully tiled roof. Each suite has a large terrazzo bathroom with bathtub and over-size, open roof shower featuring stonework. The bedrooms open to a large terrace, giving even better views. The bedrooms have air con, but we prefer fans and have never needed AC due to the breezes.

The villa is cleaned six mornings a week and the pool is cleaned weekly. Our pool cleaner is available for any minor maintenance tasks.

Quartier

The villa is in a quiet semi-rural setting, but within easy reach of shops and supermarkets. The area's population is a mix of Balinese and resident foreigners.

À propos de nous

We are a professional couple who retired early to Bali from Australia. After years of holidaying on the Island of the Gods, we decided it offered us the climate, lifestyle, friends and activities many people can only dream of. We moved to Bali in late 2005 and have owned the villa since July 2007. The villa gives us privacy, views, relaxed open-air living, romantic sunsets and dinners, cooling breezes and access to all the wonderful features of Bali.

We have a 10-year-old Daihatsu Feroza, which could be available if you also have a vehicle, but we would suggest that you consider hiring a driver. Traffic conditions on the main highways can be stressful and the street “plan” is confusing. We expect a reliable driver would cost less than €10 (Rp160, 000) a day. Alternatively, you can hire a late-model motorbike for €2 a day, longer-term. Petrol is cheap, as are taxis.

International driving permits are required in Indonesia, in addition to your national driving licence.

We are more than happy to assist with transport and any other arrangements such as airport transfers, advice on where to go and where to stay if overnighting, shopping, dining etc.

Our laundry is collected and returned to the villa on demand. Generally it costs around €4 (Rp64,000) per week per couple.
