Maison

We have a lovely 3 bedroom bungalow that backs onto a quiet forested area and open field. It is at the end of a cul-de-sac with no through street traffic. We have a deck and hot tub in the back yard for relaxation. There is 1,500 square feet upstairs and a lovely finished recreation room in the basement with a bar and pool table. There is a wood burning fireplace on the main floor and a gas fireplace down in the recreation room. We have all the usual amenties and a big screen television with a Wii system. There is also a backyard barbecue.

Quartier

We are within minute drive to a grocery store, bank, restaurants, bar and drug store. There is a nice walking trail just 1/2 km. from our home and there is always deer in the vicinity. We also have shopping less than 10 minute drive to Portage Avenue and all the restaurants and night life there. The world famous zoo and gardens at Assiniboine Park are a 10 minute drive. We are about 25 minutes to downtown with the Forks Marketplace and the river walk along where the 2 main rivers meet and the city originated. The museums are downtown and the cultural performances at the Concert Hall for our Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Symphony and theatre. The drive is an hour to the beautiful beaches on Lake Winnipeg. There are lovely sand beaches on both the West and East side of the Lake.

We are Ben and Wendy and both in our very early 50's. We are both now working part time since Ben retired from the regular Air Force and is now in the Reserves. I do therapeutic recreation in a personal care home. I enjoy golfing, dancing, walking and hiking. Ben and I enjoy music, live theatre and bird watching. He is also into aviation and enjoys flying, and is a voracious reader who also likes science fiction. Ben speaks some Dutch and French.

Destination

We have travelled throughout some of Europe and never been to Ireland yet. We could have non-simultaneous for a week of the time as we do have a recreation vehicle we can live in for a short stay if we were still here.
