Maison

Comfortable 4 bedroom bungalow, with large open plan kitchen, dining, living room, opening onto a deck and enclosed garden on one side, and a patio and garden on other side. The kitchen is fully kitted out with everything you need to cook for a family. The patio gets the morning sunshine, lovely to sit and enjoy a relaxing breakfast, and the deck captures the evening sun, where manys the barbeque has been cooked. We have a great gas barbie. There's also a garage which houses the wood pellet heating system, washing machine, extra fridge, and indoor clothes line. There are four bedrooms, two double with ensuite and two other rooms with bunk beds. There's also a small sitting room with fireplace which has a futon (very comfortable) so can be used to sleep another 1/2 people. And there is a family shower room; the house does not have a bath.

Quartier

The house is located in a beautiful village in the south east, with beaches and watersports (sailing, wind surfing, swimming, kayaking,fishing) in walking distance, and numerous beaches and coves within a half hour drive. A 20 min. drive will get you to the world famous Waterford Crystal factory - well worth a visit, and the many other attractions of Waterford. There are a choice of restaurants, and bars in the village, and a couple of small supermarkets.
It's a great place to holiday, suitable for families with young kids, or older people, active people, or people who just want to chill out.
We enjoy walking everywhere in the village and taking in the beautiful scenery as we go. The local tennis club provides 2 very well presented tennis courts, and the 18 hole golf club sits on top of a cliff commanding stunning ocean views. If golf is what interests you this is an ideal location, with 5 golf courses within 30 mins drive, and numerous others including Mount Juliet within 1 hour.
There is a fabulous cliff walk close by which takes you to a small cove nearby. And if you enjoy hill walking, the Comeragh mountains are about 1 hour drive where you can take gentle walks or more challenging climbs. There's an excellent "adventure centre", which provides outdoor pursuits (particularly waterbased) for all ages. We have life jackets and wet suits to fit adults and children, and we have 4 canoes which are fun to paddle around on.

À propos de nous

We have 3 kids - a girl aged 12, 2 boys aged 10 and 6. My husband has his own business and I stay home and take care of the domestics. My husband speaks French very well. We love the outdoors and in the summer we spend all our time around the water, and in winter when we are not bringing the kids to rugby or hurling matches, we are usually out and about enjoying the countryside. We love going for long walks with our two dogs - a labrador and a spaniel. When we go on holiday it's usually skiing in Europe in the winter and we stay home for summer vacations.

Destination

Our house is available most of the year round, except for the month of July and August. It is a second home for us.
