Maison

A newly built home 2 years old on the shore of the St. Lawrence river. This modern home is small and easy to maintain (1400 sq. ft.) and has all the modern conveniences. This 1 1/2 storey home has a stunning view of islands and the river at its doorstep. Enjoy the sound of waves lapping the shore, the evening sunsets, and nature.

Situated one mile from the town of Gananoque, off the 1000 Islands Parkway.

A bright open concept home featuring hardwood and ceramic flooring on the main level, carpeting in the bedrooms. One bathroom features soaker tub, the other a corner shower. Built-ins include dishwasher and OTR microwave, black granite sink in kitchen. Stainless steel fridge, black electric range, HRV, and water purification system. It is a small lot (40' frontage)which means it is easy to maintain. The septic system is landscaped with perennials. Parking is available for 3-4 cars and the area has many neighbours nearby, most of them retired.

A 42" plasma TV with satellite dish is included. My minivan is available for use as well.

Quartier

This neighbourhood is one mile from Gananoque (pop. 5200), with the larger cities of Kingston and Brockville approx. 30 minutes away. It is mid-way between Toronto and Montreal, and five minutes from Highway 401. Ottawa, the nation's capital, is 1 1;2 hour drive away.
There is a bike path nearby that runs from Gananoque to Brockville (about 25 miles). Three golf courses are within about an 8 mile radius. The views all along the 1000 Islands Parkway are stunning. A casino is one mile away. The 1000 Islands International Bridge is a 10-minute drive entering New York state. My home is a 5 minute drive from Gananoque where everything in town is "5 minutes away".

I am a single 59 year old retired professional female who is looking to explore places both home and abroad. I have done extensive travelling in the past and it is my passion. Although I have some familiarity with the French language, I prefer to exchange to an area with english speaking people and residents. I am interested in people and cultures of all kinds and my hobbies are travelling, cooking, reading, gardening, etc.

Although my home has water frontage, I do not require an exchange with water frontage.

My preference also leans towards the warm and dry climates, but not a necessity.

Destination

I am very flexible for both location and timing.

Arizona is of particular interest to me because of the climate. I have visited Arizona four times now, in the Chandler area and would love to exchange in Chandler, Mesa, Gilbert, Tuscon, or anywhere in the southern part of the state.

I've not been to Texas and would be interested in an exchange anywhere in this state particularly during the winter months.
