Maison

Our home used to manufature cannon balls for the Seige of Gibraltar but is now a beautiful home. Situated on the banks of the river Hozgarganta, with stunning views of the Alcornacales National Park it is rural, yet only 10 minutes walk into the pretty white village of Jimena de la Frontera. Although only a 30 minute drive from the Costa del Sol, Jimena is a traditional working 'pueblos blancos' where you can discover the 'real' Spain.

The house itself has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms upstairs, and a study with a single bed downstairs. We have an eat-in well equiped kitchen (dishwasher, microwave) and a large lounge with a wood burner.

Not that you'll be inside very much! We have both internal and external cobbled courtyards, a spacious cloistered 'inside/outside' area with comfortable seating, a large teak dinning table and a built in bbq area. Our large and beautiful garden is securly gated as it contains the swimming pool so that it is safe for children. The garden has numerous fruit trees (inc. apricot, pomigranite and lemon), which you are welcome to help yourself to season permiting.

We think its absolutely idyllic!

Quartier

We have the best of both worlds - its very quiet where we are located, although the local village (10mins walk) has lots of shops, bars and restaurants. The views are stunning and there are lots of walks, bird watching and hourseriding activities. You can also swim in the river.

Jimena is a bustling large village which is crowned by a ruined moorish castle. There are 2 playgrounds for young children and numerous of bars and cafes. The central square is an excellant place for people watching in the early evening.

Gibraltar is a 40 minute drive, the stunning town of Rhonda a 40 minute train journey and its a short drive to the Med and Atlantic coasts.

À propos de nous

We are a family of 5. Matthew and myself and our 3 children Zac (6), Ben (3) and Gabriel (1.5) so we love to swap with people with children. Matt is a carpenter and a tiler and I am training to be a hypnotherepist. We have 4 cats who are independent, but would also appreciate the occasional cuddle.

We did 2 house swaps last year and found it a wonderful way to travel and meet interesting people.

Europe - we are open to offers but particularly anywhere in Italy, Corsica & Spain
Morroco
