Maison

We live in a beautiful large, quiet, newly renovated 1914 Heritage home in the heart of Vancouver. (Kerrisdale area, Mansion Land). Our home is "Arts and Crafts style", beautiful woodwork and stained glass.The house has all mod. cons. including a large screen theater room, 2 computers, Internet, etc. (lots of movies to watch and relax with after a long day of sight seeing). We have a King sized bed in the master suite, a Queen in the guest bedroom, a Queen sized pullout sofa bed in the theater room, and a twin bed and crib in the babies room. (So it can sleep 3 couples, 1 single and a baby easily)


Although we do have children, we have never "baby-proofed" our home. We do have lots of children's items available, though, like cribs, car seats, movies, and toys. We have a huge enclosed deck off the back, with a carport below it. We do not have any pets or indoor plants, so there is no maintenance.

We also offer visitors access to our coupon book, which offers lots of savings to tourists. I have 2 family members that are able to pick you up at the airport, and get you acquainted with our home and Vancouver, should you need any guidance.

Quartier

We have lived in Kerrisdale for 10 years, and love it. It is an affluent area, very quiet in the evenings. Lots of amazing shops and restaurants within walking distance (I have a personal restaurant guide that I give to all our "exchangees".) 2 parks and public transportation is within 1 minutes walk. We are minutes from the airport, but just as close to all the beaches. There are 3 ski mountains within 30 minutes of our home (Cypress, Seymour, and Grouse Mountains)

Vancouver has some of the most beautiful sceneries in the world, for example: (1) Stanley Park: Similar to Central Park in New York City, but with the ocean and mountains surrounding it. The famous Lions Gate Bridge cuts right through it. (2) Granville Island: It is 10 minutes drive from our home, and it offers a huge array of seafood, meats, cheeses, veggies, and incredible shopping. I am always shopping there to get inspirations for meals. (3) Robson street: The heart of Vancouver tourism, but well worth it. It offers some of the nicer shops and restaurants, but great people watching. One of my favorite restaurants (Cin Cin) is on Robson and is inevitably filled with celebrities.
(4) Whistler: Great skiing just 90 minutes away!

À propos de nous

Clay is the morning man for a local radio station. He also acts and does voice over work for commercials and cartoons. Anne (that's me) is a stay at home parent of an exceptionally quiet and well traveled 5 year old (Sam). We have just had baby #2 (Lena) on June 26/2007. We have never "baby-proofed" our home, since our son is a very quiet child who likes to play with toy cars or read books. We have had excellent exchanges with New York, San Francisco, Seattle, and Bali and would love to go anywhere (time and $$ permitting).

Since we are experienced exchangers, I have lots of written guides and tips of where to go and what to do in Vancouver. I speak English and French fluently.

Destination

We are looking to get away for Christmas, we would LOVE San Diego, NYC, Seattle, San Francisco, Hawaii, just somewhere different. We are open to all options , but we may be limited by my husband's vacation time. Non-simultaneous exchanges may be available.

We are also looking into any offers for next year (2008) as well.
