Elegant three bedroom home in South Lake Tahoe, California.

Our house, on a nicely landscaped double lot, backs up to a wide part of a pond/water area called “Lake Tallac” (which freezes over in the winter) and overlooks the water to a large meadow beyond.

With its reverse floor plan, our 2700 foot home takes full advantage of the extraordinary views. Built in 1993, the main living area (second story) consists of a spacious living room, a dining room, and well-outfitted kitchen, along with a breakfast room (which I have set up as my study) and a pantry/laundry room. There is also a large master bedroom with a king-sized bed, with its bath, dressing area and walk-in closet on this floor. The downstairs consists of an oversize two-car garage, a family room/study, bathroom and two bedrooms, one with a queen-sized bed and the other with two extra-length single beds.

There are decks on both floors, with the upstairs deck (at the rear of the living room) being especially large. A BBQ, table, plenty of chairs, and two chaise lounges provide the opportunity to enjoy being outside. The downstairs deck adjoins a hot tub. We have three computers linked to the Internet through a cable modem. If your computer has wi-fi capability, we can accommodate it. If it doesn’t, we’ll figure something out.

The bottom line for our house is that it is spacious, very functional, and easy to live in. It’s greatest asset is views so wonderful that we say we live in the middle of a beautiful, ever-changing painting.

Quartier

We live in the Tahoe Keys development, on the southern edge of Lake Tahoe. There are 15 ski resorts in the area, with the nearest (at 6.6 miles) being Heavenly (http://www.skiheavenly.com). The neighborhood itself consists of fingers of land interlaced with channels. Our house, on a nicely landscaped double lot, backs up to a wide part of a pond/water area called “Lake Tallac” and overlooks the water to a large meadow behind. It freezes over in the winter, providing spacious views and the ability to snoeshoe or cross-country ski from the house.

There are many amenities, such as an indoor swimming pool, and you can walk to the lake.

À propos de nous

My husband and I are retired teachers. We do not smoke, nor do we have pets.

Destination

Our home is potentially available from September through mid-November, and January through March of each year. Although the house is our primary residence, we have an RV and other options as well, so the exchange would not need to be simultaneous.

We are especially looking for exchanges during our north American winter to Queenstown, New Zealand or warm destinations either in the U.S. sunbelt, Mexico or other places.
