Maison

We have a newly remodeled home with vaulted ceilings and Mountain views on 2 acres of lush property. Out the back door is state forest and grazing lands to the summit of Haleakala, Maui's dormant volcano. Haiku is a rural town in Maui, home to many of the worlds top windsurf and surf stars. Our home is a 20 minute drive to the nearest beach, Hookipa, famous for windsurfing and surfing. We are 35 minutes from Kahului, the largest town on Maui, and 45 minutes from Kihei on the south side of the Island, where it is almost always sunny and hot. We are at about 1200 feet of elevation so the air often cools off into the 60's at night, a refreshing change after a day at the beach! Haiku is located on the North shore of Maui, the more tropical and rugged side. Just an hour drive will have you in the resort areas of Wailea or Lahaina, then you can return to your peaceful oasis in the rain forest. There is almost never any road or neighbor noise, as they are at such a distance. You may be woken by birdsong or the wind in the trees! The house is newly decorated in a soothing tropical Bali style with daybeds and many custum wood touches. We have cable and high speed wireless internet access. We have a 6 year old boy and a 3 year old girl and all the accampanying paraphenalia. Come see how people really live in Hawaii, away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist destinations but easily accessable to all the attractions!

Quartier

Our neighborhood is comprised of an association of 2 to 3 acre lots zoned agriculture. It is hilly with small windy roads and not much traffic. People are friendly but respect each others privacy. There is fantastic Mountain biking and hiking out our back door or walking for excercise on the streets. There is a small general store and gas station 5 minutes away, a larger store and 4 nice restaurants within 10 minutes. There is even a Pizza place that will deliver to our home. On the drive to the main highway you will see cows and goats and endless acres of green!

À propos de nous

We have been on Maui for 6 years and love it. My husband works as a designer and product manager in the kitesurfing industry and I take care of our children and our home. We are very exited to travel more now that the kids are at an age where the thought of the plane flight does not throw us.

Destination

We are most interested in Santa Barbara California, as we have many friends and family there.
