Tastefully renovated corral with just 3 rooms indoors - double bedroom with corner shower/loo area, separate kitchen and separate living room with a fantastic woodburner for any signs of winter! Also with a touch of modernity ie satellite TV and internet! Acres of space with various trees outside - olives, almonds, figs, pines.. Walled massive courtyard and additional rambling fenced garden, plus terrace areas for outdoor living and scenic views. Ideal for birdwatching, wildlife spotting and walking - anyone who enjoys tranquility and being close to nature will love this place. Wonderful pet dogs are also here and a swap with someone who has pet dogs too would be a great solution. Good authentic and cheap Spanish restaurants nearby. Just 20 mins walk to a village with all facilities and 25 mins drive to Alhama de Murcia town. Come by plane to Murcia San Javier, and hire a car cheaply there for your use throughout your stay. Many very cheap flights from London especially in autumn, winter and spring via Ryanair and Easyjet.

Quartier

The views are fantastic, set in a valley full of olive and almond trees and overlooking the protected area of Sierra Espuna. You can see amazing bird life including golden eagles, many different butterflies, foxes, wild boar, arruis, squirrels, lizards and there is usually plenty of sunshine in this south eastern corner of Spain. There are authentic Spanish restaurants tucked away in the mountains here which do three course meals for only 8 euros during the weekday lunchtimes and at one of them you can often see families of wild boar there. This is a walkers' paradise and the stress just drops off you here. The local village of 100 inhabitants, El Berro, is also very friendly and helpful.

I speak English, French and Spanish and enjoy this peaceful place in the mountainous region of Sierra Espuna because of its tranquility and beautiful views. It´s also the best place for me to have my pet dogs as they have plenty of space to play outside and lead a lovely life here. I work a lot on the internet and as a writer but I sometimes need to be in London. At those times it would be nice to have someone who really loves animals making use of my place and looking after my friendly dogs. I also have four chickens for fresh eggs, and a rabbit! I don´t drink or smoke or party, prefering a healthy outdoor peaceful country life. I live off the grid with solar power so it would be of interest to anyone who is considering living in a similar way.

Destination

I need to be within easy reach of central London. I´m more than happy to look after your pets as I love animals and will be missing mine. I´d prefer it if you had pets (dogs/cats/both/others) then I´d feel you would really care about mine! If this worked out well you could house/pet sit in the future while I went to other places, not only at your place in/near London.
