Maison

The apartment is on the second floor, but not the top, with elevator access. There are two swimming pools, two hot-tubs, complimentary breakfast Monday thru Saturday, a small gym directly downstairs, big windows, beautiful water landscaping, a club house with a pool table, piano, and free movie rental. Laundry facilities are on site. It is a gated community with a home security system in the apartment. It is pet friendly, extremely quiet, and predominantly an elderly complex. There is trash pick-up at the door twice a week, and maintenance is great at keeping the ground clear of ice and snow. The apartment is a quaint, one bedroom with a great fenced in patio. You can sit out there and read, write, or relax to the sound of water fountains. There is wireless internet, cable with HBO, and a fun electric stove for those evenings with a good book by the fake fireplace! The decor is relaxed with a southwest feel. It is not elaborate, but it is very comfortable for one or two. I am a single female, and I've been safe and comfortable here for nearly a year.

Quartier

It's within walking distance of food, banks, gas stations, the fantastic River Parks trail system, and more. Excellent shopping and entertainment are within 5-10 minutes drive in two directions. The museums are 15-20 minutes and well worth the time. The apartment is located in an upscale residential area which sits in the middle of everything. If you simply want to stretch your legs, the grounds are so beautiful, walking the complex quickly became a favorite pastime of mine. The bridges, waterscapes, and covered walkways make any stroll lovely.

I have a dog and a cat. The dog I would bring with me, but the cat will either stay, or she can go to a friends. I am actively involved in my church, an avid backpacker, and attempting to be a successful author. Yet, unpublished. I have what I consider a great library in its growing stages. All of my family lives in town. This whole idea is in hopes of finding a private, quiet getaway for Christmas.

Destination

I'm really looking for mountain views and quiet towns. I prefer Colorado or northern New Mexico. The dates are for Christmas time, give or take a day.
