Maison

A rural coastal 2 storey house with breathtaking views over the islands in the North Atlantic. Its a cosy 3 bedroomed house that has been renovated with modern touches. Large kitchen/dining room perfect for family meals. Traditional range cooker fuelled by oil that both cooks and heats the water. Cosy living room with wood burning stove, tv and stereo.
Has large bathroom with electric shower. There are 2 bedrooms each with double beds and large ensuite bedroom with double bed.
Private area outside for BBQs and watching sunsets. Lots of private car parking to the front.
Though cosy the house has stone floors and a few steps inside - so probably wont suit very young children or those less stable on their feet.

Quartier

The view from the kitchen table is mesmerising! Its a quiet rural area that is Irish speaking (we could arrange for a class to learn Irish if you wanted!), but everyone also speaks English! You can walk to the pub, a small shop and the post office. You can also walk to the beach, or walk to a rocky coastline or even take off into the mountains. We can offer the use of a couple of bicycles to explore. Off course a morning swim is a must!
The local people are private but friendly and the pub offers a great place for a chat, not to mention great Guinness. The local village with a few more pubs and shops is 4kms while visitor attractions including Glenveagh National Park, Tory Island and Ards Forest Park, horseriding and windsurfing are only short drives.
The house and area will offer you a feeling of peace and quiet, but there is enough to do for those who love the outdoors. We would request non smokers only.
The house is 3 hours from Belfast Airport and 5 hours from Dublin. We may be able to arrange to meet you at the airport (preferably Belfast) and set you up at the house.

À propos de nous

Paula and Jim have owned the house now for 9 years and have renovated alot of it themselves. Paula works as an Environmental Consultant and Jim is presently learning how to build wooden boats. In the past we have owned a wine and coffee shop so New Zealand seems to fit our interests. We don't have children.

We are keen to explore the possibility of moving to New Zealand so have come up with this idea to see how we like the country.
Any suggestions as to the area we holiday in would be welcomed.

Destination

We are hoping to spend 2-3 months in New Zealand investigating possibility of emigrating. We are presently flexible with dates for mid - late 2008. We can offer a car and/or motorbike and would hope to have use of car/motorbike in New Zealand.
Also willing to look after pets particularly dogs if needed.
