A 70 year old warm cozy brick home that overlooks Bluff harbour and the Southern Ocean. Three double bedrooms, large lounge, modern kitchen and large dining area with a new stove and bench top oven, and dishwasher. Washing machine and tumble dryer in a separate laundry area. Sky/Satellite TV. Plus a computer with broadband and wireless available for use.

Sit on the veranda/porch sipping NZ's wonderful local wine and watch the most amazing display's of sunset or sunrise or both. The colours in the skies here are truely astonishing to behold. Pinks, golds, oranges and even on a grey day the different hues are endlessly fascinatingand always changing.

Our community is small and friendly mainly involved in fishing. There are several local walking and cycling tracks through untouched bushland. There are often seals, dolphins, or whales in the bay and we watch the ships sail by to the Port across the bay.

We are walking distance to the Stewart Island Ferry, several shops and some of the worlds finest seafood restaurants. We are willing for use of our car but there are buses to Invercargill our nearest city, which is 20 minutes away. We are 2 hours from Queenstown and many of the great lakes and mountain areas where you can indulge in the finest wines and foods in the world plus get your excitement levels pumping with bungy jumping and white water rafting or skiing, plus many other high action activities. Take a tour and visit areas which were used to film Lord of the Rings and several other well known movies.

Dunedin the Edinburgh of the south is 3 hours away and boasts many grand old homes plus its very own castle. There is a wonderful coastline between here and there and on the headlands of Dunedin there is the worlds only southern albatross colony. Wildlife is abundant in NZ and we have much of it right here at our door. A photographers paradise, we have it all, wildlife, sea, bushlands.

If fishing is your thing this is also the place to be. You can charter boats for deep sea fishing or catch the worlds best blue cod staight off the wharf. Bluff boasts the most delicious oyster in the world and crayfish and abalone (paua) is readily available.

This is one of the most beautiful areas of the world. We should know. We came to visit five years ago. We stayed.

À propos de nous

We are a mature professional couple -semi-retired and who do like to travel. Between the two of us we manage in German, Vietnamese, Kiwi , American English , a bit of Hawaiian and some Greek . We are both well read and anyone staying here will find an extensive interesting library.

Mac has retired from the services to write and is very interested in world peace and ecology. He is currently hard at work promoting incinerating toilets.
Sue is a Counsellor still working part-time, and currently looking forward to opening new practice rooms in the new year. She is also very interested in photography and since moving here, never leaves the house without her camera.

We are a reconstituted family and between us have loads of children and grandchildren. We love to visit them and we miss them so of course we love to go visit them.

Destination

As we are semi retired/self employed our dates are fairly flexible. We would ofcourse need some time to make arrangements. We are keen to travel most anywhere.
