Maison

Our two story home was built in 2001- cherry floors and cabinets as well as tile and granite throughout. Our front courtyard faces the end of a cul de sac with a creek and open space across the street. A relaxing backyard patio with large fountain and hot tub is off the living room. Our downstairs den serves as a guest room with its own private entrance and bathroom. We have a large black granite and cherry kitchen with new appliances. The downstairs laundry room has a washer/dryer. Upstairs is the large master bedroom with lots of windows and nice views and opens to our large private bathroom with jacuzzi tub and glass shower. Three smaller bedrooms for our children as well as another full bath are upstairs.

Quartier

Our neighborhood has open space in front and behind us. Large sycamores and small oaks abound. A beautifully lancsaped walking path runs next to our property. Summer weather is usually nice enough for T-shirts and shorts well into the evening. A short drive or bike ride from our house is a shopping center with groceries, good restaurants, a gas station and other conveniences. We often bike the path to a local trailhead leading up Islay Hill which overlooks the ever-increasing wine country which is only blocks away. We sometimes bike to wineries to enjoy some local tastings and musical events. The quaint and popular downtown is only a few minutes away. We love just spending leisure time in our downtown on Thursday nights during Farmer's Market because it has great small businesses and eatieries, music, crafts, and lots of local fresh fruits and vegetables. Many tourists and students from Cal Poly frequent this venue during summer months. Our house is close to an old highway which leads directly to Pismo Beach in exactly 13 minutes. It is also close to our small airport. The Country Club is five minutes away for golf, tennis and swimming as are various fitness clubs.

À propos de nous

My husband and I are both educators. We attended Cal Poly in the mid-eighties and feel fortunate that we were able to land jobs and stay in the area. We have four children between the ages of 5-10. We own a travel trailer and have taken many local and distant camping trips over the last five years. Our passion is traveling. Our kids are at an age where we want to share a meaningful travel experience with them that is different than anything we've done before. We look forward to trying something new and entertaining the idea of a house exchange for the month of July to explore the East Coast.

Destination

Exchange preferences - It seems to be most simple to find another person/ family who would like to exchange at the same time. We need to be back in our house as soon as we get back due to preparing for the school year as educators.
Dates - The dates aren't flexible because the month of July is the only time my husband is available.
Specific region - We would like to be on the East Coast of America, somewhat centrally located to make day trips to locales such as Boston, Washington D. C. and New York. We would prefer to be close to the beach.
