Maison

We live in a traditional stucco, thatched roofed house in a small town in Vermont. Our house has tall ceilings, lots of windows, a large stone fireplace, a big deck area complete with a gas grill perfect for cookouts, a lawn enclosed by berry bushes, apple, cherry and peach trees and generally a very warm atmosphere. The neighbourhood is surrounded by forest, rolling hills and connected by dirt roads. During the winter, there are great trails for snowshoeing, and cross country skiing within walking and driving distance as well as renowned mountains for skiing and snowboarding less than one hour away. During the summer, there are natural swimming holes, water activities on the Connecticut River, and beautiful trails for either challenging or pleasurable hikes. This is a perfect place if you are looking to experience the wonders of nature and a laid back atmosphere, but also conveniently located a couple hours from Boston and four hours from NYC.

Quartier

The neighbourhood is composed of residences scattered throughout the forest. We live on a "loop" which serves as a great route for walking or jogging and has a pond in the center that is used as a picnic spot and swimming area. It is quiet with many friendly families and playful pets.

I belong to a family of five - my parents and three sisters. We are all avid travelers and are excited about the possibility of deeper cultural immersion by staying in a local residence. My mother is from Poland so we have been brought up to appreciate other cultures and genuinely wish to explore them. We love the outdoors, as evidenced by where we live, and hope to spend as much time outside, walking around as possible.
