Maison

Two-storey townhouse very close to Perth, on the west coast of Australia. Open plan living/dining/kitchen downstairs plus small TV room suitable for 2 persons. Upstairs has two double bedrooms: main bedroom has king size bed, flat screen TV, DVD player, ensuite bathroom; the second bedroom has queen bed, TV, close to the main bathroom. Third bedroom is used as a study and has the computer with broadband internet. Small rear courtyard with barbecue. Our home is comfortable and convenient, perfect for lock-up and leave.

Quartier

We are in one of Perth's oldest near-city suburbs, becoming trendy with new homes and apartments popping up. We are situated in a small modern subdivision close to two bus routes in to the city, although you can walk to the Art Gallery, Museum and central railway station in 20 minutes (I walk into work in the city every day). Short walk to popular Mt Lawley cafe/pub strip with supermarket, newsagent, book shop, pharmacy, boutiques, gift shops, three pubs, and a variety of cafes and restaurants and supper clubs, two have been voted among Perth's best. Very convenient access to the freeways both north and south, walk to a nearby train station to get to Subiaco and Fremantle, both popular tourist spots. An easy walk of 15 minutes to Claisebrook Cove at East Perth with cafes and a our favourite bar overlooking the river.

Perth is a small, modern Australian city with much to offer. We also have a beautiful south-west area about a 3-hour drive away where you can visit wineries and beautiful beaches.

We are empty-nesters, early 60s, one retired, one still working. We have done four successful swaps: to Hawaii, Ireland, North Yorkshire and Somerset UK. We are only interested in simultaneous exchange, and would prefer to swap with other Seniors/Retirees, non-smokers and no pets. Car swap is preferred, ours is a 4-door 2004 SAAB and we would be looking for something of a similar size.

We are now looking for a swap some time from September 2011 onwards and are interested in Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Italy, or east or west coast USA, although we certainly would consider other places, even within Australia. We probably won't go to England again for a while much as we love it.
