Maison

My home is just two years old. Guests always comment on how much they feel at home here. It has an open floor plan with lots of large windows and high ceilings. Ceiling fans in every room (yes, I have central air conditioning, too) help to keep the house comfortable in our hot Texas summers. There are three bedrooms and two baths. The master bath has a relaxing garden tub. I have televisions in the guest bedroom and the family room, but you will probably be too busy sight-seeing to use them very much. The covered patio is the perfect place to enjoy breakfast while watching the birds take their morning dip in the bird bath or kick their least favorite seeds out of the bird feeder. You will enjoy my fenced in back yard. I am a gardener who delights in color and scents. I love using Texas native plants. You are welcome to clip and use my herbs for tea or spicing up your favorite dish. If the summer isn't too hot, you can even taste my fresh homegrown tomatoes!

Quartier

My neighborhood is a safe and quiet area where children ride their bikes, and parents take walks in the evenings. McKinney is a historic town with lots of quaint shops. (My house is about 2 miles from the shopping area.) I live just 20 miles north of Dallas, one of the largest cities in America. It is full of museums, opera, live theatre, symphony, theme parks, the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers (baseball), and Dallas Stars (Hockey) are all there.

What do you want to know about me? I have lived in Texas all my life and can't imagine living any place but here. I have three grown sons, the one who lives nearby is in Chiropractic school, one lives in Las Vegas and is a jet mechanic, and the youngest is in waste-water management in Missouri. I teach 5th grade Language Arts, and enjoy cooking and gardening in my free time. I love to learn about history and different cultures (have been to Spain and Mexico where I studied Spanish.) Habla Espanol? Me gusta mucho la idioma!

Destination

I am not familiar with the various areas in Ireland, but just want to taste the culture. My best friend's father immigrated to America from Donegal in the late 30's. As you well know an Irishman never forgets his homeland. I want to visit Ireland, just because of Frank (Temple.) Frank (Francis) still speaks with his cousin there. Frank will be coming with me so we can meet the cousin face to face. If we cannot make an exchange this summer, perhaps Christmas?

I am also interested in visiting the other countries listed, but don't have the space to tell why about each.
