A Meditteranean/Mexican colonial house with a central jardincity filled with plants and a fountain, a second floor terrace filled with plants and a rooftop plant-filled patio with beautiful views of the 16th Century colonial resort town San Miguel de Allende. Master bedroom has sitting area with television, loveseat, easy chair and desk with internet access. (you bring your own computer.) The sala, on the other side of the garden has a boveda ceiling, comfortable classic furniture, fireplace and crystal chandelier. Both bedrooms have fireplaces, and additional heating is provided.

Wake each morning to the sounds of Mexican church bells, and the birds who come to visit the garden. Stores, buses and other amenities are on this residential/commercial street, and it's a five-minute walk up cobblestoned streets to the central jardin.

We are in "Centro," which means the most beautiful part of this generally beautiful historic city and worldwide resort destination. San Miguel de Allende is known for keeping its age-old traditions, so a visit here is a true immersion into the real culture of Mexico.

San Miguel is an arts town. Two art schools provide classes in many mediums, from sculpture to cloth arts. A world class chamber music festival performs here in December and January, as well as in the summer months. The indigenous peoples have retained their festivals and celebrations, and these are authentic experiences, not performances for the tourist trade. The city's high walls are painted vibrant colors. Shopping for Mexico's many art forms is easy here in San Miguel, as is learning Spanish. There are many excellent language schools here. Every week there are art openings and literary readings. A visit to San Miguel will offer you the very best Mexico has to show the world, in one of the most desireable destinations in the world.

I am a professional writer, and my husband is an attorney. We both are citizens of the United States, although we have been expatriates (and lived in Mexico) for over 10 years. We are amateur artists on the side.

We enjoy film and have a dvd player and a library of films for your use.

We speak Spanish and English; some French. (husband)

Needs to be a simultaneous exchange. We would like a greek island, near the sea location, or a mainland very near the sea location.
