Maison

We live in a house in a futuristic new building with 54 houses designed as a modern community with a vision for family living and social interaction. This is a style of living popular in Scandinavia where each person has their own private house and share a joint house where we eat together have a cinema a bar and children's play area. The joint eating and social activities are voluntary. We have our own kitchen and dishwasher, washing machine, fridge etc. This provides each family with their own privacy and space yet with a possibility to interact and socialise with others to the extent they please. The community members tend to mainly be professional families with kids but there is room for everyone and are neighbours are very friendly people. Our house has a spacious open kitchen-living-dining room and a cosy living room upstairs with 2 adjoining double bedrooms.

Quartier

Denmark is a country where cycling as a primary form of transport is ideal- We live 1 km from a train station where you can take a bike onto the train and then into Copenhagen city in 30 minutes (we have bikes available to borrow). Our building has a common green area in the middle with park benches and tables to relax or eat and lots of space and equipment for kids to play. There is an outdoors public pool 1 km away and a large forest about 2 km away. Copenhagen is the capital of Denmark - an exciting city with lots of sights and character.

We are a Danish/English world traveller couple with baby twins who despite having young kids would still like to see new places and lifestyles while giving others a chance to see ours. We have borrowed houses from people in our community and lived in shared houses for many years so we have experience in living in other peoples spaces and others in ours.

We are looking for somewhere in Europe possibly Northern Italy or Spain or Kyoto Japan where we can take care of two babies whilst enjoying ourselves. We would like somewhere with sunshine, possibilities to take short walks, restaurants and enjoy nature without needing to drive around or take long public transport rides. We would be interested in an exchange for 2-3 weeks as early as July.

Destination

We are open to suggestions but are mainly interested in Northern Italy perhaps Piemonte (Piedmont) , Northern Spain perhaps San Sebastian or Kyoto in Japan- Basically somewhere where warm yet not too hot we can see some sights enjoy meals in restaurants and take walks with two 5 month old babies.
