Description of the house:
The home is a John Calvin style home that was built in the early 1900. It was in one family’s name for most of its existence. As you walk in the door to the closets to the street you will walk directly into a family room with fireplace. You can walk out from here through old fashion French doors onto the porch. The porch actually wraps around ½ of the house. Across from the family room is a small dinner area. From this room you can access both the downstairs bathroom and kitchen with small breakfast table.
The The downstairs bathroom has a sink, toilet and shower. The hallway where the downstairs bathroom exists continues to the washing machine. There is no dryer. Everything is dried outside on a line. The second floor has three bedrooms. The bedroom on the left has two single beds. The bedroom on the right has 2 single beds, and the bedroom on the far left has two single beds. They can be pushed together for couples. Off of both left bedrooms is a small adjoining room that can either be a reading niche or a small bedroom with a children’s size bed. The second floor also has a bathroom that includes a toilet, sink and a soaking tub. All showers are taken in the downstairs bathroom or outside..

Great Diamond Island Description
Great Diamond Island, a 20-minute ride from Portland on a Casco Bay Lines ferry, was once a military installation and is now known for its summer homes, beaches, and the community of fine homes at Diamond Cove. At Diamond's Edge Restaurant you can dine at the water's edge, with beautiful views of Diamond Cove. The island has a general store (207-766-3087) which sells pizza, sandwiches and ice cream, and also has public restrooms.

Great Diamond Island, in Casco Bay, is a two mile ferry ride from Portland. The Ferry service runs frequently enough to spend the day on the island, and then to be able to leave for a night out of dinner and activities within downtown Portland and still return that night to the island. Explore miles of walking trails through the island’s silent old growth forest and along the water’s edge - you may encounter our elusive moose, a family of wandering deer, herons and osprey, perhaps a few seals. Cars are not allowed on most of the island therefore you have an environment where families, kids play freely all over the island. This is an amazing place to vacation. You will feel miles away, but still close enough to a big city.

I work in the technology industry so hence I travel all the time. When I lived in Europe Amsterdam, Munich, and Brussels I pick up the travel bug. I love spending time at my island house, but would like to really enjoy someother locations within the USA. As all I need to work is an internet cord and a phone I have decidedto list my house on the swapping site. If anyone dreamed of a classic summer vacation in Maine this is the place to enjoy it.

I can be extremely flexable on dates and timing of date's. I would prefer to do a swap with someone for NYC. I have never had a chance to live in the city and would like to experience this type of a lifestyle.
