Maison

We live on a quiet cul-de-sac in Kamloops BC, a small city in the interior of British Columbia. Our house is over 2500 square feet with a large yard (with play yard) and 2 large decks. We have 4 bedrooms, 2 kitchens, living room, rec room, etc. Air conditioning to keep the house cool in the summer and 2 fireplaces for the winter. It is a modern house with all your daily needs: full kitchen, television/dvd/digital cable, washer/dryer, stereo, etc.

Bathrooms include heated tile flooring, a deep soaker tub and the master ensuite includes a shower with massaging water jets (great after a day on the ski slopes!).

We have a mini-van for exchange which can accomodate 7 people. There are bicycles and ski equipment for your use. Also, we have plenty of children's needs including high-chair, playpen, strollers, etc.

Kamloops is located in the Thompson valley, where the Thompson rivers meet. There are a variety of city parks and trails both along the river and in the mountains. Winter activities are plentiful with Sun Peaks ski resort only 45 minutes away, Harper Mountain ski area within 20 minutes and nordic ski areas in the vicinity. In the summer we enjoy swimming in the river or local lakes, camping and hiking, and there is a golf course within walking distance. Other local activities include river rafting, world-class fishing, and mountain-biking.

Only 3.5 hours from Vancouver, 45 minutes to Sun Peaks ski resort, 1.5 hours to Shuswap resort area and 1.5 hours to Okanagan wine country, you are in the centre of many close attractions.

Our house is located in the Aberdeen neighbourhood of Kamloops, on a quiet street with lots of young families. Easy access to the highway and only 10 minutes to the urban centre, major shopping centres, movie theatres, and restaurants. Many hiking trails and parks nearby, as well as a golf course within walking distance.

The hills around the house provide breathtaking views of the surrounding grassland hills, the Thompson River, and, in the distance, the peaks of Wells Gray Provincial Park.

À propos de nous

My husband and I are both professional foresters and work for the provincial government. We speak english as well as some french and spanish. We have a 5 year old daughter, Calla, and an infant son, Griffin.

In the summer we enjoy swimming in the river and hiking in parks close-by. In the winter we ski, both downhill and cross-country, and we both play hockey.

We enjoy traveling and are looking forward to our next exchange.

Destination

We completed a successful home exchange to the south of France in 2008 and we're now looking forward to an exchange to Australia (or NZ) in early 2013! We would love to exchange with someone wanting to ski at Sun Peaks in the winter of 2013/2014 while we would visit during Australia's summer. However we are open to other times or locations so contact us to see if we can arrange something! We look forward to any offers!
