Maison

Our spacious entrance hall leads to a formal dining room, kitchen and sitting room. Kitchen (recently refurbished) is light and airy with attractive oak wood floors. We have all new appliances and cabinets with granite worktops. The dining and sitting area opens onto the patio and garden. Spacious sitting room - with gas fireplace and lots of comfy chairs - also opens onto the patio. We have 3 bedrooms available. Double with ensuite shower, washbasin and wc. Queensize and a further double which share the main bathroom (also recently refurbished). Apart from patio doors, all windows are leaded lights, and we have exposed beams on the ground floor. Our house has a charm of its own. (We have a further wc on the ground floor). We have a large garden laid to lawn (suitable for playing croquet), which is surrounded by trees and shrubs.

Quartier

We are just one mile from the picturesque village of Bray (home of world famous restaurants The Fat Duck and The Waterside Inn), and within walking distance of Maidenhead for shops, cinema and train service to London (Regular train service into London taking between 20 and 40 minutes). We are close to the River Thames and the tourist town of Windsor with its Castle,shops, boat trips, Legoland (theme park for younger children). We are also a short drive away from Ascot, Henley, Oxford, Stone Henge and the Costwold villages and hills. We are surrounded by picturesque villages and traditional pubs - a good area for walking.

À propos de nous

We are Roger and Liz, and in our early 60s. Liz recently retired from primary school teaching, and Roger has his own busines in the computer industry. Our children are all now adults, living in Canada with their respective families (hence our wish to visit Vancouver). We enjoy golf and tennis - our main pastimes, and also play Bridge socially. We have a good relationship with all our neighbours who would be happy to help out with any queries that might arise. We also have a weekly cleaning lady whose service could be included in the exchange.

Destination

We hope to travel to Vancouver to be near family. However, we would be happy to go to Vancouver Island if 6 or 7 people could be accommodated as we could then bring our families to visit us during our stay. We can be flexible on dates but would hope to exchange homes over the summer.
