Maison

Hello, My husband (a retired business owner) and I (an interior designer/antiques dealer) love traveling and have been intrigued with house exchanges. So this is our first time listing our home in Geneva, Il. Our house, built in 1921, has been our family home for the last 18 years. When we bought it we were only the second owners of the property. I am an interior designer and therefore lovingly restored and decorated the house.

The house has 5,500 square feet of space and sets on 4.5 acres of land but within 5 blocks to the town center of Geneva, Illinois and the commuter train station to hop on a train to Chicago. It's a big old house with two large screened porches, 100 windows (wonderful breezes), antiques, modern conveniences, a mercedes benz station wagon.

Quartier

We live in an older neighborhood of Geneva, Il. Lots of big trees, large yards, sidewalks, older homes, families, children and dogs! One of the best parts about Geneva is the shopping in the town. Geneva has a well known and established down town (5 blocks from the house) with lots of stores and restaurants. There is a public pool 4 blocks from our house, too. Just a few blocks from the house is a bike path along the Fox River with miles and miles of paths to either bike, roller blade, walk or run. It's really lovely in the spring, summer and fall. You can kayak on the Fox River also.
Geneva is a suburb of Chicago. There is a commuter train and station just a few blocks from our house. Trains run to Chicago and back about once an hour. It is an easy trip to Chicago.

We are interested in traveling to Sweden this summer. We love Stockholm, but would enjoy a house in the country too.
