This eco-friendly, off-grid home was featured in Sunset Magazine and was the showcase house for the West Coast Green Show. The glass walls completely open to the expansive 2,000 sq ft deck, melding the inside and outside. You are surrounded by forest and views of the lake and Sierra Mountains. Perfect for a romantic retreat. We have a private hiking trail to the lake. Rare birds abound. Totally secluded yet only 10 minute drive to historic gold rush towns including the very artsy town of Nevada City. Less than 45 minutes to Lake Tahoe-area ski resorts. We also have a Bay Area townhouse and you could combine staying at both. A great way to see the Sierras/Gold Country and the Greater San Francisco Area. See our listing in Campbell, CA.

You are surrounded by nature - owls, rare birds, deer and 8 gorgeous forested acres. We are right on the lake so from the glass walls of the house or the deck you have multiple vistas of beautiful Rollins Lake and across the lake vistas of the Sierra Mountains. Within 10 minutes you have quaint historic towns, museums, gold mines, farm stands, wineries and cinema. You can take day trips to the Tahoe area and Reno. In spite of this, most of our guests prefer to remain at the Lotus Lake House just taking in the beauty or hiking our trail.

À propos de nous

Tod and Barrie are both former executives in the high tech world. We left our corporate jobs to do volunteer work and to build our dream "green" vacation home. Tod does community revitalization and Barrie does child advocacy work. Tod is 4th generation Californian; Barrie is an east-coast transplant.

We are both well-traveled (we got married in Rajasthan, India) and love meeting people- especially from different cultures. We don't have kids but we do have a great little wire fox terrier who keeps us on our toes.

Destination

We recently returned from 4 glorious months in France so we're looking to a different part of the world for our next trip. We're always open to long weekends in the NE or W part of the US.

We have a 2 for 1. You can use our award-winning "green" lake house in the gold country, CA as well as our more urban townhouse 45 minutes south of San Francisco. It's less than 30 minutes to beaches, wineries, Santa Cruz/Monterey. Car available.

We can do a non-simultaneous exchange.
