Maison

Our lakeside house with 5 bedrooms has two levels. Upstairs we have kitchen, dining, living room, 2 bedrooms (master bedroom with double bed and children's bedroom with bunk bed), laundry room, toilet, toilet & bathroom and of course wonderful balcony as a summer kitchen. Downstairs we have the second living room, sauna & bathroom & toilet, two bedrooms (two separate beds and one 120 cm wide bed) and playing room that can be used as the fifth bedroom (one bed).

The house is fully equipped with modern facilities (WiFi, 3 TV's, lot's of DVD's, X-Box, Playstation, Nintendo Wii, dishwasher, washing maschine, electict drying closet etc.). There are toys, sandpit, swing and playing cottage for the children and rowing machine for adults. Several bikes and two cars (one with 7 seats and one with five seats) can also be included in to exchange. Maid service can be organized.

Quartier

Our house offers possibilites to enjoy clean nature, swimming, fishing, kayaking, hiking, biking and other ourdoor activities. The lake Saimaa (70 meters from back door) is our big "swimming pool".

Altough we live in the peaceful area all the necessary services are available in our village (5 mins drive). Path for hiking is available straight from our backyard. You can also go and pick blueberries just behind our house. Nearest citycenters are Lappeenranta and Imatra (20 kilometers), Helsinki (capital of Finland) 250 kilometers away with many attractions. Cruises on the lake Saimaa or short trips to Russia via Saimaa channel are available. All our previous exchange partners have made a trip to St. Petersburg that is easily reachable by train. Two golf courses and a spa within 25 kilometers. During the winter time there are good possibilities for cross country skiinig and also small hill for downhill skiing. À propos de nous

Our family includes father Jakke (53 years), Manager in forest industry, mother Liisa (44 years), Financial Director and children Pekka (17), Olli (16), Emilia (15), Eero (9) and Eino (8). We made our fist home exchange in year 2007 in Spain, Sabadell and after that we have been in France, in the Netherlands and again In Spain. We very much like that way of travelling. Earlier we have been travelling with mobile home around the Europe and in year 2006 our family visited China. Pekka is enthusiastic guitar player; we have two electric quitars and one acoustic and one small electric piano. We are responsible and respect your property. We are non smokers. Hobbies include sports (orienteering, gym, cross country and downhill skiing).

Destination

We are really open to any destination; surprise us! Our house could be available for non simultaneous exchange usually in week 13, when we go skiing. In addition to summer exchanges we might have one week exchange in May or in June and about two weeks exchange during Christmas time (non simultaneous exchange possible in Christmas & New Year 2010).
