Stay in this beautiful and comfortable beach house, within walking distance from the atlantic ocean, a wonder world of contrast awaits you. Our house is located between the Namib dessert and the atlantic ocean.

Our house is located one road up from the beach with all the facilities of a great beach holiday, you are within walking distance of a tidal pool, a jetty, restaurants and a promonade that hugs the atlantic for a great walk or jog. On the other side of the house you will find the namib dessert with activities such as 4 wheel rides in the dessert, sandboarding, dune jumping (paragliding from the dunes) and much more.

The house is equipped with all the luxuries from home, a fully equipped, living room with a portable radio?cd player, television, kitchen, washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge, crockery, cutlery as well as all the essentials that you need for a great day on the beach (umbrella's beach chairs, wind nets, cooler boxes etc.). There are 2 bedrooms with queen sized beds, 2 sleeping couches, 2 bathrooms and a bathcelors flatlet on the roof of the garage with a queen size bed, kitchen and bathroom. There is an outside shower and an enclosed entertainment area with a barbeque. It is a stand alone house with a lockable garage.

If it was good enough for Brad and Angeline, it must be good enough for you, the hotel where Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie stayed whilst waiting for the birth of their daughter is right across our house!!

Quartier

When you visit our part of the planet you will not only be in two worlds of the ocean and the dessert you will also be between two cultures, The town of Swakopmund and Walvisbay hug the coastline of Namibia. Our neigbourhood lies in between these two towns, we are 15km from Walvisday and 14Km from Swakopmund.

Swakopmund is a German colonial town with interesting architechture, here you can experience German hospitality with African warmth. The town is full of wonderfull restaurant and great coffee shops, gifts shops and the richness of the all the semi precious gems that is on offer in this part of the world.

Walvisbay is a harbour town with a breathtaking lagoon that is home to thousands of pink flamingoes. You can climb dunes, windsail, kayak, go for a harbour cruise to meet the intresting locals such as seals, pelicans and other sea creatures. to finish it all off you can enjoy some of the best oysters in the world!

Longbeach is new beachfront development, most of the homes are holiday homes and if you visit over the holidays or weekends there will be lost of activity, but during the off peak season it is quiet with a very laid back and relaxing atmosphere. The view along the coast will leave you calm and relaxed.

We are a family of four, Ian, Sue, Zoe and Sigrid. Zoe is 5 and Sigrid is 3, Ian is a retailer and owns a grocery and bottle store, and I (Sue) am a trainer, I train on Human Resource retaled topics. We love travelling and enjoy learning and seeing new places.

We love cooking and therefore are always interested in new cultures and what people eat and how they spend their time. We speak afrikaans at home and go on holiday at least twice a year.

Destination

We are looking for an ongoing exchange opportunity and therefore our dates are flexible.
