Maison

Our house is new (build in 2002), big (3700 sq ft / 340 sq mt of leaving space), located in one of the best communities in town (12 minutes from down town, 30 minutes if you are biking). Our house has 4 bedrooms in total, 3 full bathrooms and 1 extra room (bedroom / studio). Lovely and big kitchen, nice backyard, double garage, huge family/recreational room (actually 2: one upstairs and another in the basement).

Quartier

Our community is on the border of the city, so you can walk 5 blocks and you are in the country side or you can drive/bike to downtown. Our house is on the edge of the highest hill of the city, so you have one of the best views of the city. 3 blocks from our house is the Calgary Olympic Park, where you can go skiing in winter and enjoy different activities in summer. You can drive to Banff and enjoy of the Rocky Mountains. This is one of the most beautiful places on earth with hundred of lakes and mountains.

Our street has extremely low traffic, excellent for families. There is a pond just across the street and there are paths to have a nice walk and even if you are adventure, you can walk between the bushes around the house. Do not be surprise if you see a deer or a rabbits in the surroundings. You will find lots of young families in the area and a lot of playgrounds for the kids to enjoy. Schools near by (three of the best private schools in Alberta).

Calgary is maybe the best city in Canada and a top 10 city in the planet. It is only 1 million people that make it friendly and family oriented, but at the same time it is the oil capital of Canada, with big corporations and big attractions. The Stampede is the "The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth" that symbolizes the cowboy culture of the West of Canada.

We are a Latin family who migrated to Canada 10 years ago. We are a young couple (we are in our middle 30's) with two girls (7 and 5). I am an IT consultant (SAP) and my wife is a paralegal. We came to Canada looking for adventure and a better life. We have accomplished that and we thank God and Canada for the opportunity of leaving here. But time passes and we want to explore more places... UK is our option number one as they have an immigration program, it is in Europe and we love to know people, places and culture. Just going for vacations would not be enough.

Canada is our country and we want to come back, but also we want to travel and meet people and the only way to afford that is working in the new place where we want to live: UK!

Destination

Hi:

We are looking to spend a year, maybe two in UK. For employment opportunities, only big cities with an international airport are an option for us. Our dates are flexible but finding an exchange for at least 6 months is a must.
