Maison

Beautiful, well decorated, 2 storey house situated on a large lot in the suburbs of Gatineau (Hull sector). A recent and quality construction, this residence will certainly meet the needs of a family travelling with children or a couple looking for a quiet oasis close to the city. On the first floor there is a modern well equipped kitchen with adjoining dining room, a two piece bathroom, a living room (with wood burning fireplace) and an office (with a desktop computer and high speed internet access). On the second floor there are 3 large bedrooms (one with a king size bed and two with single beds), and a very large bathroom with shower and large bath. In the basement, there is a playroom (with toys, Nintendo Wii and PlayStation 3 included), a TV room with 2 single wall beds, a laundry room and a full bathroom. The flooring throughout the house is hardwood and ceramic tiles except for the basement which is carpeted.
The house is situated on a large lot and has a big backyard (according to suburbia standards). From the dining room, there is access to a large deck providing access to the heated above ground swimming pool. A number of mature trees provide nice shaded areas where to rest on hot summer days.
We have 2 cars that could be made available as part of the exchange: a 2004 Toyota Matrix with manual transmission and a 2006 Toyota Yaris 2006 with automatic transmission.

Quartier

The Hautes Plaines is a quiet neighbourhood, situated next to Highway 5 which provides an easy access to both Ottawa and the Gatineau Hills. A few minutes away from the house there is a small city park with children playground and water games. Also, Gatineau Park with its trails and bike paths is situated about 5 minutes away (http://www.canadascapital.gc.ca/bins/ncc_web_content_page.asp?cid=16297-16299-10170&lang=1).
Because of its situation next to a highway, access to restaurants and stores is easy and convenient.

À propos de nous

We are both professionals (he is an engineer, she is a business manager) and have 2 boys now going on 14. We enjoy history, sports, good food; appreciate and collect art. We tend to be quiet and prefer reading and watching TV as a family as opposed to late nights out. Although we are not emotionally attached to material things, we take care of our worldly possessions an appreciate a little luxury (let’s be honest, we tend to be a bit cozy).

Destination

The exchange would have to occur simultaneously and there is some flexibility with the dates. We would prefer if the exchange also included access to a car.
