Maison

The villa is very inviting and comfortable with spacious living. The courtyard entry is filled with colorful flowers and an Italian fountain. The living room and dining room take full advantage of the 180 degree view as well as the gourmet kitchen. The living room has a wood burning fireplace, large plasma tv with dvd player and full sound system. The dining room seats 6 and can be arranged to seat 8. The gourmet kitchen boasts granite countertops with stainless steel appliances and a convection oven. There's even a wine cooler! The master bedroom has a Cal king bed with silk bedding and a private patio. The master bath has two sinks, a soaking tub and a separate two-person shower. For your enjoyment, there is a large plasma tv, a dvd player and a sound system. The second bedroom with it's picture window to the courtyard has an iron framed queen bed and it also has a plasma tv and dvd player. Next to it is the bath with two sinks and a tub/shower combo. It is also the guest bath.
There is a bar-b-que on the back patio where you can take advantage of the panoramic views and dine alfresco next to the fire pit.
It is truly a destination spot.

Quartier

The villa is located approximately 30 minutes drive from San Diego in a suburb of Rancho Bernardo, a golf and tennis mecca. You can walk to Zagat rated restaurants and all shopping and grocery stores are a 5 minute drive away. The Rancho Bernardo Inn has a world class day spa and a 5 star restaurant, El Bizcocho, not to mention it's designer golf course. There is plenty of activities to do in the area like hiking, biking, kayaking, horseback riding and wine tasting. La Jolla, Del Mar with it race track, Encinitas with it's beaches and antiquing are all within a 30 minute drive as is the zoo, See World, and downtown San Diego. And, don't forget to visit Hillcrest for it's eateries. I've traveled the world and found no other place I'd rather be than in sunny Southern California.

I am a retired real estate professional and I find time for plenty of exercise, photography, tennis, mountain biking and of course travel. When I'm home, I'm usually busy pet sitting for friends while they travel. Otherwise, I'm looking for the next best place to go and experience.
I am a widow of 15 years so when I travel it's usually with a friend or two. I'm in my early 60's and couldn't ask for a better lifestyle!

Destination

My exchanges for 2010 include a trip to visit my nephew in NYC, West Village to be exact, from April 14 to the 21. I have the air for this trip but not a place to stay.
The next one is to Italy for a month spending time in Rome, Florence and Cinque Terra. I don't have the air for this trip so the dates are flexible but I will be there for at least 30 days.
My sister and her husband will be going with me on these two trips and they are in their mid 60's and in great health. My sister and I have traveled to Rome and Florence and can't wait to get back. We are all great lovers of art and music and hope to "take it all in" while we're there.
